A new Pro-Am event is joining the Confederation of Professional Golf Sanctioned Event calendar next year as The Vilnius Pro-Am 2019 takes place at Vilnius Grand Resort in Lithuania from 29 May – 02 June.

Teams of one Professional and three amateurs will enjoy a 54-hole Pro-Am format event that will showcase one of the best championship golf courses in the Baltic States, with Professionals competing for a prize fund of €20,000*.

Situated just 20 minutes outside of downtown Vilnius, the Vilnius Grand Resort is set within its own expansive grounds, surrounded by lakes and pine and birch forests, with a reputation built on warm hospitality and effortless luxury.

    1. Eligibility

    Professionals

    “The Vilnius Pro-Am 2019” is open to all PGA Members and trainees as recognised by their respective National PGA. A limited number of exemptions may be considered provided that the Professional is a member in good standing of an organisation that is considered a Professional Member of the International Golf Federation. Any doubts as to eligibility will be decided by the Confederation of Professional Golf Board of Directors whose decision will be final.

    Amateurs

    Amateur participants must be in possession of a valid handicap certificate.

    3. Registrations and Competitor Briefing

    The Professional and Amateur Tournament Registration desks will be operational from 08.00hrs on Wednesday 29th May and will be located inside The V Club Clubhouse – All players are requested to register by 11.00hrs on Wednesday 29th May in person. If this will not be possible, they must send an email to ed@CPG.com.

    All amateur competitors MUST confirm their current handicap upon registration and MUST bring an updated handicap certificate.

    It is the Professional’s responsibility to ensure that the Confederation of Professional Golf Desk is made aware of their amateurs’ exact handicaps as well as the system that their handicap uses and MUST provide a current handicap certificate. Failure to do so will result in the amateur playing off scratch.

    Participants agree that their personal data may be given to third parties for reasons related to timing, results’ ranking and announcement on the internet. Personal data of the participants required during the registration procedure are stored and will be used for purposes only related to the staging of the event. By submitting an entry form, each participant consents to the storing of his/her personal data and its use for the purposes of the event.

    Participants consent to the use of their image during the event by the organizers, sponsors, or other partners of the event for promotional purposes, with no right to claim full or partial compensation for that reason.

    4. Conditions of Play

    The event shall be played under The R&A Rules of Golf, the Tournament Regulations of the Confederation of Professional Golf, the 2019 Confederation of Professional Golf Conditions of Competition and the local rules for “The V Golf Club”, as determined by the Confederation of Professional Golf Tournament Manager.

    The Professionals will play a 54-hole individual Strokeplay event.

    Teams (1 Professional and 3 Amateurs) will compete over 54 holes Stableford with the best two scores from the team of four to count on each hole.

    The handicap limit is 28 for all Male participants and 36 for all Female participants. Players who have a higher handicap than these limits will be capped at 28 and 36. Amateurs will receive 75% of their SLOPED handicap allowance for the duration of the Pro-Am. The EGA slope system will apply.

    PRIZES

    Amateurs

    • Three overall team prizes (1st, 2nd 3rd) will be awarded in the Pro-Am.
    • Longest Drive (Men)
    • Longest Drive (Ladies)
    • Nearest to the Pin (Men)
    • Nearest to the Pin (Ladies)

    In the event of a tie in the Pro-Am category, prizes will be determined by a card countback based on the scores achieved over the last 18 holes, then 9, 6, 3, and last hole.

    Professionals

    The Professionals will compete in a 54-hole individual strokeplay competition. The Professional Prize Fund is €12,000 based on 12 teams competing in the Pro-Am, therefore, it is subject to change. [The Prize Fund is subject to a Confederation of Professional Golf 5% Levy].

    Any disputes regarding the interpretation of these Conditions of Competition will be settled by the Confederation of Professional Golf Tournament Manager in consultation with Vilnius Grand Resort and will be binding.

    5. Draws

    The starting times for Round 1 and Round 2 will be published in the tournament office by 13.00hrs on Wednesday 29th May, as well as in the Hotel by 14.00hrs. Players will also be notified of their team’s starting time by email.

    The starting times for Round 3 will be published following completion of Round 2. The order of play will be in strict Professional score order with the leading Professional going out last.

    NOTE: No changes to the draws will be permitted once they are posted and the decision of the Tournament Manager will be final.

    6. Starting

    All competitors are required to be at their starting tee 10 minutes prior to their start time. This is to allow the starter to provide pin positions, local rules and additional information to each player. This also ensures that all team members are present and able to start on time.

    Please be aware that it takes 5-10 minutes to walk from the clubhouse to the first tee.

    Male Professionals will play from the black tees;
    Female Professionals will play from the yellow tees;
    Male Amateurs will play from the yellow tees;
    Female Amateurs will play from the red tees.

    NOTE: Female Professionals will play from a course that is not shorter than 10-14% shorter than the total course yardage of the course played by the male Professionals. The Tournament Manager will vary the tees as necessary to ensure the fairness of the holes and the event.

    Important:

    Missing team members including the PGA Professional may be subject to penalty if the team in question fails to meet the points highlighted in 20.1 of the PGA’s of Europe tournament Regulations

    NOTE: When both Professional and the team are subject to a two-stroke penalty for lateness on the tee, the team total for the first hole will be increased by two shots prior to any penalty being added to the Professional’s individual score for that hole.

    7. Buggies

    All competitors will be permitted to ride in buggies for the practice rounds and the tournament rounds of the Pro-Am. Buggies are limited and will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis at the players’ own expense.

    8. Recording of Scores

    All scorecards must be returned to the Tournament Office situated in the Clubhouse immediately following play.

    9. Rulings & Doubt as to Procedure

    There will be Confederation of Professional Golf Officials to deal with any disputes.

    If, however, there is no Rules Official present the player may invoke Rule 20.1c(3) (two ball rule). The player must nominate the ball with which he wants to score, should the rules permit, and report the facts to a Confederation of Professional Golf Official immediately after the conclusion of play. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

    10. Distance Measuring Devices

    All competitors will be permitted to use distance-measuring devices provided they measure distance only. If a player has any doubt as to whether a device is conforming, they should seek the advice of a Confederation of Professional Golf official.

    11. Slow Play

    A pace of play will be enforced for the duration of the tournament. If an amateur cannot score on a hole then they must pick up to assist the pace of play.

    It will be the professional’s responsibility to ensure that the team’s pace of play adheres to the guidelines of the Tournament Manager.

    12. Bad Weather / Play Foreshortened or Cancelled

    In the event of bad weather and an overall result not being possible, the overall result will be decided over completed rounds.

    All players should make themselves aware of the Suspension of Play Policy, which can be found on the Confederation of Professional Golf Hard Card – Section A11. In all instances when there is a threat of lightning the player should put their own safety first and seek shelter as soon as possible.

    In the event of unforeseen circumstances any decision shall be made by the Confederation of Professional Golf and, in consultation with Vilnius Grand Resort, will be binding.

    13. Dress Regulations

    Normal Golf clothing is to be worn at The V Golf Club during the tournament or the equivalent after golf.

    Jackets (No Tie) are required for the Prize Giving Ceremony & Closing Reception.

    All other functions are smart casual.

    Food boxes will be provided prior to each round, and food tents will also be stationed on the course.
