Parents in Golf

Parents in Golf is a new educational programme developed by the Confederation of Professional Golf [CPG] that aims to move the needle in golf development and participation number across countries through focusing on parents and their children – together forming a crucial interest group for golf.

Created by a panel of experts in junior golf and golf development, countries around the world can apply for and run the programme tailored to their circumstances.

The programme focuses on building and supporting the relationships between children, parents and the coach, using golf as a medium for children’s development.

For the parent, the programme can help them better understand their children, the various ways that golf can aid personal development, and allow them to support their children’s involvement in golf.

FOR THE
CHILD

Parents in Golf helps to aid children’s personal development and enjoyment in golf.

FOR THE
PARENT

The programme can help them better understand their children, the various ways that golf can aid personal development, and allow them to support their children’s involvement in golf

FOR THE
COACH

The Coach should have the leading role in creating and maintaining this “new” relationship with parents and families. This role requires new skills and moving on from the traditional way of teaching. PGA Professionals and Coaches need to become leaders in making golf a true “game for all”.

FOR THE
ORGANISATION

The programme helps countries with the development of new coaching skills to ensure the bright future of the game. Parents in Golf is developed with each country individually to ensure it meets their specific needs.
