The team at LUMINE Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community have cause for celebration after being awarded the ‘Innovator of the Year’ accolade at the inaugural Troon International Sales and Marketing Conference. The leaders in upscale course management, development & marketing, Troon recognised LUMINE as one of Europe’s most exciting new golf and leisure properties.
The conference, which was staged at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club, welcomed senior management from Troon’s international portfolio of courses, stretching from the UK to Africa and from Spain to Bahrain. LUMINE was represented by General Manager, Calle Carlsson who received the award on behalf of the team.
“We have learnt that results can be extremely fruitful when you combine creativity with such a comprehensive product,” noted Carlsson. “The entire team has been working hard to deliver effective and innovative solutions in what is currently a challenging environment, so naturally it is encouraging to see our energies are paying off. It is a great honour to accept this award on behalf of all the professional staff here at LUMINE.”
The award was given to LUMINE in recognition of the phenomenal progression in visitor volumes, achieved through effective packaging, Tour Operator relations, innovative internal travel solutions and most importantly the delivery of a memorable experience.
The resort which is located 45 minutes south of Barcelona on the Costa Daurada is surrounded by a diverse mix of attractions that have struck the right chord for golf and leisure seekers from around Europe.
Bruce Glasco, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, Troon International Operations commented, “What we have learnt from the team at LUMINE is that creative solutions can offset market trends and I would like to congratulate the team on taking bold measures and implementing unique initiatives. The numbers we are seeing should ensure LUMINE takes centre stage as one of Europe’s future hotspots.”
Located within 170 acres, LUMINE Golf Club, includes the Greg Norman designed Lakes Course which plays host to the European Tour Qualifying School Stage 2 and the more traditional Hills Course which runs through pine and olive trees with spectacular views of the nearby coastline.
The two championship courses are further complimented by the aptly named 9-hole Ruins Course, another Norman design that weaves its way through Roman archaeological remains from the second century and completes a diverse 45-hole offering of immaculately presented golf that caters for golfers of all ages and abilities.
In close proximity to two international airports at Barcelona and Reus, LUMINE Golf Club is a truly all-encompassing leisure attraction.
