The PGA of Italy’s Alessandro Tadini claimed the 2019 Messinia Pro-Am in dominating fashion at Costa Navarino in Greece, with a total score of 15-under par (197), 11 shots ahead of the rest of the field.
Following his first two rounds, each of six under par, which were played on The Dunes Course and The Bay Course respectively, the Italian entered the final round with a comfortable ten shot lead. He was able to then increase this to 11 shots with his final round of 68 (-3), which took him to his -15 total.
“I’ve played great the entire week, from tee to green. As someone who has struggled in the past with his putting, feeling so much confidence truly was a great sensation and is a great since for the rest of my playing season this year,” said Tadini.
“I would like to thank Costa Navarino for hosting this wonderful event. It is a fantastic place with two spectacular courses, and myself and my team have had the most amazing time in Messinia.”
Second place fell to PGA of GB&I Professional, Stuart Boyle, who played very steadily all week delivering a final round of 67 (-4), for a total score of four-under par (208), two-shots clear of the PGA of Portugal’s, Tomas Gouveia, who finished in third with a total score of two-under (210).
Gouveia also completed an excellent week by winning the Team Pro-Am event with his team of Ivailo Dimchev, Lyubomir Minchev and Konstantin Sinapov [pictured above with Aegean Airlines Legal Counsel, Katia Avramidou]. Moving no less than seven places up the leaderboard in the final round, Gouveia and Co.’s final round 86 points (-14) took them to a 245-point total (-29) for a single-shot victory.
Second place went to Team Reiter of Berni Reiter (PGA of Austria), Franz Pichler, Johann Schygulla and Gottfried Traintinger, with 244 points (-28), whilst third place was shared by Team A. Sotiropoulos, Team Diakou, and Team Elli, each with 241 points (-25).
