The Inaugural Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am Supported By Golf Saudi Joins the CPG Schedule3 min read

Posted on: 26th Oct 2020

The 2021 CPG Events Schedule has received another boost to its already glittering start with the addition of the inaugural 2021 Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am supported by Golf Saudi.

Professionals and their teams from across the globe will join together for what is set to be an incredible golfing opportunity at one of the most exquisite venues in the Middle East – Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Saudi Arabia.

The Pro-Am, which follows directly after the Saudi International 2021, means professionals will not only be competing for the €30,000* prize fund that is available, but also a chance to follow in the footsteps of the world’s best and showcase their own games on the Dave Sampson-designed course that will be in immaculate, tour-standard condition.

Director of Golf at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club, Ben Stimson commented: “We are very excited to partner with the CPG in showcasing the inaugural Troon Royal Greens Pro- Am supported by Golf Saudi.

“Having hosted two successful, internationally revered tour events already, now is the perfect time to stage our very own Pro-Am at Royal Greens. When you combine the exciting golf course with what has been recently voted the world’s best golf clubhouse for 2019, then we cannot wait to showcase what is going to be a sensational event to the world.

“We are very proud to be supporting Golf Saudi’s strategy to grow golf in the Kingdom. Creating a Pro-Am for international professionals and amateurs to be a part of will certainly help to grow the tourism segment and the longer-term growth for golf in Saudi Arabia.”

Chief Executive of the CPG, Ian Randell, welcomed the news: “We are incredibly excited to be introducing the Troon Royal Greens Pro-Am supported by Golf Saudi into next year’s tournament schedule.

“Having been fortunate enough to attend and speak at the Golf Saudi Summit last year and to witness first-hand the fantastic Royal Greens Golf & Country Club along with the exciting and ambitious steps that are being taken to develop golf in the Kingdom, this tournament is guaranteed to be a truly fantastic experience for all.

“The Pro-Am sits as part of a wider partnership with Golf Saudi to assist and support them in achieving their vision to not only expose its golf offering to an international audience but also build a well-educated professional and volunteer workforce – with a focus on driving golf’s overall success as a sport in the Kingdom – through the provision of golf development and education expertise.”

There is no Pro-Am package fee for each participating professional bringing a team of three amateurs, and non-member amateur packages start at SAR 6,547 (approx €1,500) and include:

• Welcome reception dinner at Royal Greens
• 5 Nights’ hotel stay at Bay La Sun on B&B basis
• Welcome gifts sponsored by Callaway
• 4 Rounds of championship golf, following the Saudi International 2021
• Prizes and trophies sponsored by Callaway
• Full use of Golf Academy throughout the 4 days
• Use of Spa for 1 of the tournament days
• Lunch packs and dinner at Royal Greens
• Gala Dinner on final tournament day
• Transfers included for the tournament
