Second-time Lucky For 2019 #BekoClassic Champion Marshall1 min read

ROUND 03

PROFESSIONAL LEADER: Andrew Marshall (-14)

TEAM LEADER: Beko Poland (-54)

Britain’s Andrew Marshall used all of his experience and a steely-focused mentality to hold the challengers at bay and claim the 2019 Beko Classic title…

Leading after round 02, Marshall couldn’t help but be reminded of last year’s event where the title was in grasp until a spirited Georg Schultes strung together a super weekend of golf to snatch victory.

Using this and all of his other previous playing experience, Marshall shot a super final round four-under-par, 68 (202, -14 total) to take a comprehensive victory and with it, a winner’s cheque of $10,000:

“Last year I shot some really good scores, but I got overtaken by Georg (Schultes) who turned up once again this year. The difference was that I didn’t make any bogeys this time around”

I kept blemishes on the card to one across three days, I managed to hole some really good putts and I am very pleased with that fourteen under total”

Two shots further back were Mitchell Waite and Mark Reynolds (PGA of Holland) after a replicated 66 from the latter brought Reynolds back up towards the top, capping off a fine week for the last-minute invitee.

The team event was just as enticing, with one point making the difference for Team Beko Poland (pictured below, with amateurs Aurelius Rusteika, Dainius Šutavičius and Migle Rusteikaite) as they claimed victory over Team OPET 3 with a total of 270 points (-54).
