Tough scoring around Yas Links in Round 02 of the 2020 Troon Abu Dhabi Pro-Am created a congested field heading into the final round, with a number of star players vying for the title.
Ladies European Tour Professional [LET] Noemi Jimenez Martin kept her hopes of a maiden CPG Sanctioned Event title alive with a battling 75 [three-over-par] around a Yas Links Golf Course that offered few opportunities on the greens and question marks around every tee.
“I didn’t have my best today but I struck the ball really well and I am looking forward to being in the mix tomorrow. I feel good with my game, so let’s see what happens” commented Martin.
“The Troon Abu Dhabi Pro-Am has been a fantastic way to keep my game sharp over the off-season, particularly with some big events coming up in Europe, and the set up around the three courses has been fantastic so far”.
She trails current leaders Joe Heraty and Tom Shadbolt [140, four-under-par total each], going into the final round at Abu Dhabi National Golf Club, where a long, challenging course set up with some fantastic opportunities for low scoring greets them all.
Heraty’s team [with amateurs Dara Paulson, Blanca Rivollier and Steve Hall] continues to lead the team Pro-Am event on 181 points [37-under-par], with Team Martin in second and Team Doherty in third on 175 and 164 points respectively.
