A final round flurry of birdies from British Professional Robbie Busher gave him a second Troon Abu Dhabi Pro-Am title in as many years.
Trailing overnight leader Joe Heraty by one shot, Busher, who claimed the 2019 edition in similar fashion, knew he had to go low at Abu Dhabi Golf Club to once again claim the honours this time around and he did just that, carding a sensational score of 66 [six-under-par] to win by two strokes [207 total, -9].
“Being behind overnight meant there really was no pressure for me going into the final round, so I just played with no fear and went after it – I honestly didn’t put a foot wrong to be honest and am ecstatic to win once again” commented Busher.
“To come here [to Abu Dhabi] over the European winter, play three fantastic courses in fantastic weather is a real blessing and it is a great way to keep the game sharp before the new season kicks off for sure”.
The second and third positions were then eventually occupied by Joe Heraty and Tom Shadbolt respectively, with the former finishing on seven-under-par for the tournament [209 total] and the latter on six-under-par [210 total].
Despite Joe Heraty coming up just short in the individual Professional event, his team [with amateurs Dara Paulson, Blanca Rivollier and Steve Hall] did come out eventual winners in the Team Pro-Am event, as they put together a final round score of 85 points to post a total of 266 for the tournament [-50] and hold off Team Martin in second by a narrow-margin of just three points.
