Defending champion, David Lynn, has taken the lead after Round 02 of the 2018 Beko Classic Pro-Am after a five-under par 67 at Carya Golf Club in Turkey.
Lynn made a strong start to the round with four birdies in six holes for his nine-under total (135), but with a strong field competing this week, he has some challengers close behind.
2005 US Open champion, Michael Campbell, sits one shot behind in tied-second having also carding a 67. Campbell shares second with the PGA of GB&I’s Andrew Marshall, the PGA of Austria’s Georg Schultes, the PGA of Spain’s Alvaro Salto and Max Penney, who carded the low round of the day with an impressive nine-under 63.
“I started on the 14thtoday, small par 3 and I said to my team I was going hole in one it,” said Penney. “I hit a great shot to two feet, rolled it in and it set the tone for the day. I didn’t change anything from yesterday and at one point today I was five under through 4 holes”.
Team Flo Ayakkabi, led by Andrew Marshall, built on yesterday’s strong start. Along with Marshall, amateurs Mehmet Ziylan, Baha Telli and Mehmet Kazan, scored 97 points taking them to the top of the leaderboard.
Just six points back are team Katia Bony and Golferz 22. Jamie Elson led Katia Bonyamateurs, Hasan Gulkaya, Ali Xiaowei Gong and Volkan Ileri to 93 points. Golferz 22 amateurs Fahri Ersin, Idil Mimaroglu and Mehmet Saracoglu scored 88 points with the assistance of PGA of Sweden’s Jesper Kennegard.
