The PGA of Great Britain & Ireland’s Simon Lilly tames the winds of Port Royal Golf Club and takes the midway lead at the Bermuda3s World Team Championship presented by Goslings whilst team “Trump International Golf Club” lead the Team event.
As the only player to shoot Par in Round 2 of the Tournament, British Professional Lilly enters Round 3 with a total score of 2-over par, and 1 stroke ahead of USA’s Cary Sciorra, heading into the final two rounds on the famed 18-hole Par 3 Turtle Hill Golf Course.
“I’m really excited to be here, I’ve never been here before and it’s a fabulous venue. Yesterday I found it very tough in the wind and on grainy greens which I’m not really used to, whilst today the course elevation with the strong wind made it so much harder” said Lilly after his round.
“We play a British Par-3 Championship and that’s one of the biggest events in the UK for the pros and it’s a great event. Par 3 golf is different and it’s fun, it brings a lot more people together and makes it more playable for everybody”.
In the Team Category, team “Trump International Golf Club” led by Professional John Nieporte, along with amateurs Keith Frankel, Pete Mazzola and Andrew Graves, maintain their lead with a total score of 19 under par and two shots clear of team “Turtle Hill Golf Club” led by Professional Dwayne Pearman, along with amateurs Michael Dunkley, Christopher Morris and Craig Christensen who, however, enter Round 3 and 4 of the tournament on home soil at Turtle Hill Golf Course.
