AEGEAN Airlines is the title sponsor of Bad Griesbach Challenge Tour by Hartl, which will take place this summer for the second time at the Hartl Resort after a strong premi- ere in July 2013.
After a very successful tournament premiere last July, the sequel now follows: A total of 156 players will compete for the second tournament of the European Challenge Tour from July 3rd to 6th, 2014 at the Beckenbauer Golf Course in Europe’s largest Golf & Spa Resort. New to this year is the Greek airline AEGEAN Airlines that is supporting the tournament as the title sponsor, so it will now be called the AEGEAN Challenge Tour by Hartl Resort. AEGEAN Airlines supports golf through various projects like the well-known AEGEAN Airlines Pro-Am, the PGAs of Eu- rope sanctioned “June” event. As in the previous year, the grand prize of 170,000 Euros will be played for. The Hartl Resort experiences partnership and support in the imple- mentation and marketing of the tournament through Switzerland based 4sports & Enter- tainment AG, which is a globally operating company in the sports marketing industry.
In the first edition of the tournament in July 2013, Italian Andrea Pavan won with an out- standing score of 19 strokes under par and thus, sealed the prize of 27,200 Euros. Best German tied at 21st was Sebastian Heiselse from Dillingen.
„Over the past year we have received a lot of compliments from the players and manag- ers of the Challenge Tour for hosting the tournament,” says Volker Schwartz, executive director of the Hartl Resort. “We want to build on this and be even better this year. We are very pleased that we are the only tournament of the European Challenge Tour in Germany, which enables us again this year to give the young German players the chance to compete with strong competitors. How well the players play on the Challenge Tour was revealed by the fact that the winner of our tournament, Andrea Pavan, has now succeeded far enough to play on the European Tour. So, it is worthwhile to be there as a spectator because a great sport will definitely be offered again,” adds Schwartz.
He goes on to say: “We are particularly pleased that we have found a great partner for the event. AEGEAN Airlines, a member of the prestigious Star Alliance, will not only be displayed in the Bad Griesbach flag for this tournament, but has also provided extensive cooperation with the Hartl Resort. AEGEAN will be visible as a partner at the resort for the whole year, whether it be the legendary Kaiser Cup or even the Ryder-Cup-Contests with the teams from Switzerland and Austria. Additionally, holders of the AEGEAN Gold Card can book special offers at the Hartl Resort and in addition, a private tournament for AEGEAN-customers will be held in the summer in Bad Griesbach.”
