Cohen Sets-Up Final BlackSeaRama Battle2 min read

Posted on: 13th Jul 2018

Asaf Cohen (PGA of Israel) has continued to dominate the BlackSeaRama Vivacom Pro-Am 2018 in Bulgaria taking a three-shot lead into the final round.

Playing over the world-famous, par-72 Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort, Cohen was able to maintain his composure in extremely hot conditions to score a two-under par 70 for a two-round total of nine-under (134).

“I had a lot of birdie chances today, but it’s only my second time on this course and it’s very difficult…but I am very happy with this score,” said Cohen.

“In the Messinia Pro-Am earlier this year, I was very close and lost in the playoff…so winning this is very important to me.  I came here with good friends and to have a good time so it would be the best I could ask for.”

But only three-shots behind is Chryssanthos Diakou (PGA of Greece) who was the only player to break 70 with his three-under 69.

“BlackSeaRama is a great and challenging course,” said Diakou.  “If the weather stays like it was today then it will be a bit easier, but if we have wind like last year then anything around par would be great. I am really happy for my team as well as they played much better than yesterday.”

Craig Williams (PGA of Italy) was also steadfast in his scoring once again, with a one-under par 71 for a three-under total (140), just within touching distance of the lead if he can go low in the final round.

The second round threw the Team Pro-Am wide open with substantial movement in the top three teams.  Hakan Yamac (PGA of Turkey) and his amateurs, Kenan Güngör, Bogdan Jigman, and Catalina Jigman are now in pole position after an 87-point second round for a 176 points total (-32).

The Team led by Peter Gustafsson (PGA of Spain) advanced seven places up the leaderboard in Round 02 with a cool 90 points (-18) that positions them just three points behind the leaders on 173 points (-29), whilst the team of PGA of GB&I Professional, Jonathan Grogan, did not fare as well at Thracian Cliffs but are only a few points off with a 171 total (-27).
