The 20th staging of the Beko Classic will pay testament to the vision of Mustafa Koç who sadly passed away earlier this year.
The Beko Classic Pro-Am has been a stalwart tournament on the Confederation of Professional Golf’s event calendar and is a shining example of the work that Mustafa Koç did in establishing golf in Turkey.
The Pro-Am will see nine past Champions from across the last 20 years of the event join with some stalwart competitors that have featured heavily in the event that takes place this year again at Gloria Hotels & Resorts in Belek, Turkey.
The most recent returning champion, major-winner John Daly, will be looking to add to his 2014 title in the Pro-Am taking a short break from his recent run of Champions Tour appearances. His appearance also comes just ahead of the release of ESPN’s 30 for 30 “Hit it Hard” documentary on Daly that will be aired on November 1st.
Past champions also include the likes of two-time winner, Robert Coles (England – 2009/13), Liam Bond (Wales – 2006), Raymond Russell (Scotland – 2010), and captain of the victorious 2015 GB&I PGA Cup team, Jon Bevan (England – 2007), to name but a few.
1999 Confederation of Professional Golf European Champion and Challenge Tour winner, Sion Bebb (Wales) returns looking for his maiden Beko win, alongside fellow Welsh visitors, Garry Houston and the aforementioned Bond.
2004 KLM Open and 2013 Portugal Masters winner, David Lynn, joins the field making a total of six European Tour wins amongst the field to go along with the combined 20 Challenge Tour, two majors, and five PGA Tour wins.
Belgium’s Christopher Mivis and Pierre Relecom and Sweden’s Bjorn Pettersson, Joakim Rask, Pontus Widegren and Oscar Floren complete the continental European contingent.
Round 01 begins on Thurs 13th October at Gloria Hotels & Resorts New Course.
