8th Aegean Airlines Pro-Am Returns to Costa Navarino4 min read

Posted on: 8th Feb 2013

“Chip-in” the Bay & “Drive for” the Dunes!

The 8th Aegean Airlines Pro-Am makes a welcome return to the fantastic surroundings of Costa Navarino in Greece from 29 May – 01 June 2013, where the professional players will battle it out for a total prize fund of €70,000.

Last year’s Aegean Airlines Pro-Am, held at Aphrodite Hills Resort & Golf in Cyprus, brought together 180 professionals and amateurs from 13 countries who battled it out across the championship course. But it was Italy’s Zeke Martinez who came out on top, taking home the winner’s cheque for €7,000, followed closely by overnight leader, Liam Bond, who surrendered his two-shot lead dramatically on six-over-par, along with a total prize fund of €62,700 being shared amongst the 45 PGA Professionals.

Roles were reversed with the team category competition, which was won by the Liam Bond’s “Marriot St Pierre Country Club” team, with the “Lamborghini Golf Club” team with professional Zeke Martinez finishing second.

This year’s venue, Costa Navarino, played host to the 6th Aegean Airlines Pro-Am in which Italy’s Nicolo Gaggero took home the €7,000 first prize back in 2011, and players will be treated to four tournament rounds on the same fantastic Dunes and Bay courses in 2013’s competition.

The Amateur Pro-Am package is €1,650/golfer in a Westin Single room, or €1,350/golfer in a Westin Twin shared room with a team member (€550/non-playing partner sharing a double room with a golfer), and includes:

  • 5 nights accommodation at Westin Resort, Costa Navarino
  • 2 Aegean Airlines Pro-Am rounds (1 day at The Dunes and 1 day at The Bay Course)
  • 1 official practice round (1 day at The Dunes OR 1 day at The Bay Course)
  • Participation in the Aegean Cup 2013 – 1 round at The Bay Course
  • Bus transfers (Kalamata airport to/from Hotel – transfers to/from Dunes & Bay)
  • Golf balls for practice
  • Buggies for all rounds
  • On-course refreshments and snacks for 4 tournament rounds
  • Welcome pack
  • Welcome reception
  • Barbeque event
  • Gala dinner & Prize Giving ceremony
  • Lottery ticket for Gala
  • Players liability and bodily injury insurance on the course

There is no Pro-Am Package fee for each participating professional with a team of 3 amateurs. Complimentary accommodation in a double room (no extras) is offered to each participating professional (and spouse/partner) for 5 nights on BB basis at Westin Resort, Costa Navarino [Accompanying persons’ fee applies to spouse/partner of each participating professional].
