It is with great pride that the Royal PGA of Belgium announces that the association has received the predicate Royal.

This special distinction recognises our long-standing and meaningful contribution to Belgian golf, and makes Belgium the first PGA worldwide to receive such an award.

The predicate Royal, granted by His Majesty the King, is one of the highest honours a Belgian company or organisation can receive. It is only awarded to companies and institutions that are at the forefront of their field and have a history of at least 50 years.

“This award is a tribute to the commitment, dedication and innovation of all our employees and partners,” said managing director Bernard De Bruyckere [pictured, right, alongside [L to R] Tom Blanckaert, Carine Van Cauter, Vincent Vroninks]. “Receiving the Royal designation underlines our continued ambition to pursue quality and excellence in everything we do. It is a milestone in our history and a motivation to continue with even more passion and dedication.”

The association was statutorily established in 1988 but its first national championship was held in 1922. The Royal Palace thought it saw enough evidence in a number of documents from 1937 to consider this date recognised. Since then, the association has played a leading role in the world of golf, both nationally and internationally.

With a strong focus on professionalism, fair play, integrity and knowledge, the association has achieved countless milestones and established itself as a trusted and respected name in the industry. The official presentation of the predicate took place on 18 June at a festive ceremony, which was also attended by representatives of the city of Ghent and the Governor of the province of East Flanders.

“We are deeply honoured by this recognition and see it as a confirmation of our efforts and achievements. The Royal designation motivates us to continue providing outstanding services, and to further expand our contribution to golf,” added Chairman, Tom Blanckaert.
