Golf Genius, the leading provider of cloud-based golf software solutions, has been selected to power the full tournament schedule of the Japan Golf Association (JGA).
From 2024 onwards, the JGA will utilise Golf Genius’ Tournament Management to power its entire tournament schedule and provide the associations’ golfers with a digitally enhanced event experience throughout.
“We’re very excited to be participating in the world’s second largest golf market by helping the JGA in its mission to make game an even more popular and accessible sport in Japan”, commented Mike Zisman, co-CEO and founder of Golf Genius. Our Tournament Management solution has been refined and enhanced through close collaboration with many national governing bodies, and we look forward to strongly assisting the JGA in its administration of professional, amateur and junior tournaments throughout the country.”
Added Zisman, “Between JGA and Technocraft – our strategic partner in Japan – we quickly found a shared common ground to deliver a premium, digital event experience for competing golfers, whilst also providing a complete on-the-ground support service to the JGA and their regional associations.”
As utilised by a host of global associations, including the USGA, England Golf, Golf Ireland, Wales Golf and Golf NSW, Golf Genius Tournament Management will power the end-to-end event experience for the JGA through features such as online golfer registration, live scoring, order of merits and rankings.
Golf Genius also works with an increasing number of other Japanese golf facilities, including the PGA of Japan, Tokyo Metro Golf Association, Japanese Virtual Golf Association and Tokyo Classic GC to power more best-in-class golf events of all forms and formats.
Andy Yamanaka, Executive Director & COO, at the Japan Golf Association, added: “In the last five years there has been a monumental shift in the digital trends and behaviours across golf, so choosing the market leading provider of Tournament Management software made complete sense for the JGA, enabling us and golfers across Japan to benefit from innovative, up-to-date technology.”
