Old Tom Gin 1821 is a CPG Business Partner and member of the Business Club by CPG – Find out more here

A new and exclusive luxury gin brand with links to the Ryder Cup has welcomed seasoned professional golfer Gary Evans to the team as a ‘Brand Champion’ and advisor.

Having recently been established as an official Supplier and Licensee of the 44th Ryder Cup taking place in 2023, Old Tom Gin 1821 is now looking to increase brand awareness and further develop its links within the golf industry, both in the lead up to the iconic event and beyond.

As a professional golfer on the European Tour between 1991 and 2006, followed by the Staysure Tour in 2019, Gary Evans has been a strong and consistent figure within one of the world’s greatest sports for 30 years.

During his career, Gary has developed a wealth of brand knowledge and experience through representing and consulting for a number of premium, luxury and iconic names including Hugo Boss, Leica and Emirates.

In his new ‘Brand Champion’ role, Gary will assist Old Tom Gin 1821 in its efforts to drive credibility and availability across the UK and Ireland by utilising his own personal network and links within the industry.

Founder of Old Tom Gin 1821, Giorgio Cozzolino, explained: “Since its launch, Old Tom Gin 1821 has successfully attained credibility within the high-end drinks market, reinforced by our impending involvement with the 2023 Ryder Cup.

“Welcoming our first advisor to the team is yet another momentous occasion, and we couldn’t be happier to announce this latest sponsorship deal. As well as sharing an obvious passion for the game of golf, Gary’s values align perfectly with those of Old Tom Gin 1821, making him the ideal ‘Brand Champion’.

“Given his long history in tournament golf, he is a great ambassador for the game and boasts a network second to none. We cannot wait to start working together on some exciting initial projects – watch this space.”

Gary Evans added: “I’m both excited and humbled to be chosen to work with Mr Cozzolino and his team in St. Andrews. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with several world-class brands over the past 30 years and now I’m looking forward to using my knowledge and experience to help spread awareness of the Old Tom Gin 1821 brand and to be a part of its journey in golf.”

Created in St. Andrews, Scotland, and distilled using the finest Sicilian ingredients, Old Tom Gin 1821 symbolises a harmonious marriage between Giorgio’s Italian homeland and his love for the Scottish town, where he has resided for the last six years.

The limited-edition embossed cobalt blue decanter-style bottle incorporates the official Ryder Cup branding and a certified bohemian crystal golf ball stopper, while a luxurious, Italian fabric lines the packaging interior.

Having already taken the ‘Super Premium’ drinks category by storm, Old Tom Gin 1821 holds a long term vision to become the gin brand of choice for consumers at prestigious venues and iconic sporting events worldwide, affirmed by its official partnership with the Ryder Cup in 2023.
