PGA of Spain Professional Liam Murray is the man to beat in the 12th BlackSeaRama Vivacom Pro-Am, following a second round 69 at Thracian Cliffs.
In typical Thracian Cliffs fashion, the course posed a significant test for the competitors, with Murray being the only player to break par across the day in what was a round for patience and a strong mental focus.
Murray showed both traits throughout his second round, alongside some very consistent driving to shoot his three-under-par round, which by the close of play left him on four-under-par [139 total] for the tournament – he now holds a three-shot lead over fellow PGA of Spain member [and CPG Fourball Championship playing partner], Jamie Gibb, heading into tomorrow’s final round.
“After a shaky start, I managed to get it going. The helping wind on the back nine meant I could also take advantage of my long drives and make some birdies, said Murray.
“Tomorrow is going to be tricky – the rough is thick at BlackSeaRama so playing a fairway finder off the tee is going to be key. Hopefully I can hold Jordan [Gibb] off long enough.”
In the team event, Team Kraljevic [with amateurs Boris Damjanovic, Jasna Damjanovic and Slobodan Cvetkovic] hold the outright lead after a second-round score of 84 points (12-under-par) left them on 169 points [25-under-par] after two rounds, 3 points ahead of second-placed Team S. Marinov.
The 12th BlackSeaRama Vivacom Pro-Am is played in accordance with Bulgarian national COVID-19 measures, the CPG Championship & Sanctioned Events COVID-19 Policy, and specific tournament regulations and procedures developed in conjunction with BlackSeaRama Golf & Villas.
