Little Sets Pace at Golfbreaks.com Pinehurst Pro-Am1 min read

Posted on: 20th Mar 2017

Former European Tour Member, Sam Little, got off to a fast start on his first visit to the iconic Pinehurst Resort in the USA for the first round of the 2017 Golfbreaks.com Pinehurst Pro-Am.

A strong four-under par 68 on the Jack Nicklaus-designed No. 9 Course saw him take the early initiative with a two-shot cushion over his nearest rival, the PGA of America’s Troy Helseth, who signed for a two-under par 70.

In the Team Pro-Am competition it was a role reversal, with Team Helseth taking the lead after a scintillating 94 points (-22). Even a double eagle by Team Little on the par five 10th, with amateur Nick Lines matching Sam’s Eagle efforts couldn’t close the gap.

The early pace setters hold an eight-point lead over Team Little going into Round 02 that will be held on the Tom Fazio-designed No. 8 course.
