Al Ain Again for Mercedes-Benz International Pro-Am2 min read

Posted on: 7th Nov 2016

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz International Pro-Am supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council will take place at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club (AESGC), UAE from 29th January to 2nd February, as the popular Pro-Am returns for its fourth year.

The event takes place over 5 days and consists of a three-round team event followed by an individual amateur competition and final Individual Professional round on the final day, with Professionals competing for a prize fund of €28,000*.

“This will be the fourth edition of the event and we are really pleased with how it has been growing,” said AESGC’s Golf Manager, Gavin Chappell.

“We have recently renovated much of the course and are also working to make the off-course entertainment even better so this will no doubt prove to be the best yet!”

Packages begin at AED 5,450 (approx. €1,330), and include 6 night’s accommodation in the Rotana Al Ain, Sat 28th January through to Thurs 2nd February (check out Fri 3rd February), complimentary use of all Academy facilities including par 3 course, various evening functions and lunches throughout the week, shared golf carts and a branded Pro-Am polo shirt.

The end of the Pro-Am also coincides with the beginning of the 2017 Omega Dubai Desert Classic taking place at the Emirates Golf Club, Dubai, making for what could be a fantastic trip of playing golf in Al Ain and then watching in Dubai.

The third edition of the Pro-Am was won by PGA of Austria Professional, Georg Schultes, who secured his maiden Confederation of Professional Golf Tournament win after coming out on top of a two-man playoff.
