Long-standing CPG Member Country PGA, the Swiss PGA, have recently released a statement identifying a new strategic direction for the organisation as it looks to the future, with a an even greater member-focused direction taken.
2019 was a year of transition for the Swiss PGA, with a lot of work and dedication from Swiss PGA staff going on behind the scenes. The board of the Swiss PGA reviewed and questioned the structure of the association, re-evaluating the previous strategy and as a result, have developed a new, future-focused strategy. Their 380 members are to be placed more clearly at the centre of their activities, with the core task of the association association in being able to support Swiss PGA Professionals more elaborately than before. With the new strategy, the organisation of the Swiss PGA is to be modernised and made fit for the future.
After completing their review phase, they are now turning towards the consistent implementation of their clearly identified strategic directions, requiring a great deal of personal effort and redirection from PGA representatives, personnel and members of the Board. As a result, whilst Keith Marriott, Marc Chatelain, Andrea Mantoan and Gianluca Patuzzo will stand for re-election for another 3 years at the next General Assembly, Russell Warner and Markus Rath, however, have decided not to run for another term for personal reasons.
With his professional knowledge and network, Russell has made a substantial contribution to the attractive further education program of the Swiss PGA, whilst Markus has been the financial conscience of the board for many years, contributing significantly to the solid and sustainable financial position that the Swiss PGA is currently in. The Swiss PGA, offers their thanks to Russell and Markus for their many years of valuable cooperation and wish them much pleasure and success, both personally and professionally.
Moving forward, the Swiss PGA announce that Patrick Ruppen will serve on the Swiss PGA Board, taking over the position of “Chief Financial Officer” [CFO] from Markus Rath as of May 1, 2020, and will formally stand for election at the next General Meeting. Patrick will provide valuable support to the demanding work of the Board with his sound professional and “golfing” knowledge. He is an independent lawyer and notary public in Brig and holds various mandates in the hotel, tourism, real estate and sports sectors. As President and Pro of the Source du Rhône Golf Club and as the operator of a pro-shop, Patrick knows the challenges of the Swiss golf market from his own experience.
