Three months after turning professional, Nicolas Winandy has won the 2026 CPG International Series Grand Final at Bois d’Arlon Golf & Resort, leading from the first round to the last.
The PGA of Luxembourg professional opened with a six-under-par 66 on Wednesday, the lowest round of the Championship, and added a second-round 70 in a strengthening wind for a 36-hole total of 136, eight under par and two clear of the field. It was the first professional title of a career only three months old.
Vince Van Veen made the strongest charge on Thursday, a closing 68 lifting him four places to finish second on 138, with Owen Edwards third on 139. Belgium’s Maxime Palenik matched the day’s best round of 68 to climb into fourth, and Loris Maquet was the leading amateur.
The Championship brought together the winners of CPG International Series events with the leading players from the Order of Merit, drawn from countries across Europe. A €30,000 prize fund was shared across the field, with every competitor earning from their finishing position and Winandy taking €4,000 alongside the title.
“It was tough out there today. There was a lot of wind, so I just thought about my game plan rather than my score,” said Winandy. “It is my first win since I turned professional three months ago, so it gives me a lot of confidence for the next events – but I have to keep practising and keep grinding.
“Bois d’Arlon is a very tough course, a real championship course. You have to be careful about the pin positions, the slopes on the greens and the wind. Every time you play it in windy conditions you get better.”
Winandy had also played in the Grand Final Pro-Am earlier in the week, which opened with another Nicolas – Nicolas Colsaerts hosting a Q&A and clinic for guests of the Pro-Am Experience. It made for a tale of two Nicolas: one opening the week, the other closing it.
The Championship was played at Bois d’Arlon Golf & Resort, an outstanding venue and host partner of the Grand Final. CPG is grateful to the team there for their partnership, for the condition of the golf course and for the welcome given to players and guests.
