THE INTERNATIONAL PRO-AM 2022
LILY COUNTRY CLUB, OSLO, NORWAY
29 JUNE – 2 JULY 2022
The Confederation of Professional Golf [CPG] has joined Sports Travel Group [STG] in promoting and organising the ground-breaking International Pro-Am, which will also be presented in association with the PGA of Norway as it heads to the stunning Lily Country Club in Oslo.
The International Pro-Am was launched in Turnberry in 2019 with a unique offering that brought together the very best in golf and travel in a format that included numerous chances to win a variety of prizes including luxury travel experiences.
This year, in collaboration with CPG and Member Country, the PGA of Norway, the event heads to Norway from 29 June to 02 July. Exploring the very best in food and travel experiences, the 2022 event centres around Oslo, with the chance to play on two of Norway’s finest courses, Miklagard Golf Club and Kongsvinger Golf Club, while staying at the five-star Lily Country Club.
“We are delighted to be partnering with STG for this exciting and unique Pro-Am.,” said CPG Chief Executive, Ian Randell. “STG are renowned for their commitment to excellence and providing unforgettable experiences and this Pro-Am is sure to be a great example of that. Furthermore, the opportunity to work with, and benefit, the PGA of Norway on the event is important as we implement our plans to further collaborate with and through our membership on CPG activities.”
“This Pro-Am is a great chance to showcase some of the exceptional courses and hospitality that are on offer in Norway whilst also offering further playing opportunities and a platform to promote the work of the PGA of Norway.” said PGA of Norway President, Trond Baardseng. “We are excited to be working with the CPG and STG at this event to help ensure its success.”
The itinerary includes a main event tournament played over two rounds, a light-hearted team tournament, a pro-shootout challenge and a final day matchplay format with its own prize pool.
Professionals travel for free when accompanied by three paying amateurs, and are guaranteed €500 with additional prizes on offer for a top-five finish in the main event and the pro shootout.
“Taking the International Pro-Am to Oslo this summer really reflects what the event is all about: unique, luxury travel experiences that golfers may not have considered visiting with their clubs previously,” explains Billy Gammon, a co-founder of The International Pro-Am. “Overlaid on that are a number of competitive events, with unique formats and each with their own prize pots, which we hope will make the experience memorable for the Professionals and amateurs alike.”
