Confederation of Professional Golf Mentoring Programme Gets Underway1 min read

Posted on: 30th Oct 2012

Slovenia and Slovakia have become some of the first countries to begin mentoring sessions with The Confederation of Professional Golf, with a recent visit to Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, by Chief Executive of The Confederation of Professional Golf, Ian Randell, and Vice Chairman of The Confederation of Professional Golf, Mikael Sorling, followed by a Slovakian visit by Ian Randell.

The subject matter discussed in both trips very much mirrored each other as the countries share similar membership and player numbers. Discussion of issues such as the cooperation of golfing bodies within both countries, the evolution of the game, as well as the continued expansion of the PGA of Slovakia and PGA of Slovenia’s respective member education programmes and strategic plans, were on the agenda and the countries took full advantage of the previous experience and expertise the Confederation of Professional Golf have to offer.

“One of the key roles of the Confederation of Professional Golf is to set and advance standards of operation for the administration and education of professional golf across Europe. Seeing the current state of golf in both countries, the manner with which the PGAs operate, and the opportunity to share learnings from other countries has been hugely rewarding.” said Ian Randell.

“Both PGAs share common goals of wishing to develop their PGA, their members, and future members, and also golf as a whole in their countries. We will continue to provide advice as they progress with these objectives.”
