Golf Europe returned to Germany this year but with a new host venue, Messe Augsburg, and a reinvigorated programme to excite visitors. 

The show got underway with the new inclusion of Demo Day, bringing it in line with the likes of the Orlando trade show, in which show-goers can test out the latest products and technology in their ‘natural’ environment.

Split across two halls, the main exhibition part of the show, coming back to the industry having taken a year out from the golfing calendar, allowed industry professionals from over 30 different worldwide countries to meet, conduct deals, and learn from each other, whilst in the comfortable surroundings of The Messe Augsburg exhibition centre, only 45 minutes from Munich.

“Feedback is unanimous that the industry needs Golf Europe, and Augsburg has proved that it is an ideal location. The conviction that the trade fair is important within Europe has pervaded nearly every conversation,” said Gerhard Reiter, CEO of Messe Augsburg.

A key to the success of the show was the diversity of nationalities visiting: Ian Randell, Chief Executive of The Confederation of Professional Golf, a co-supporter of the show alongside the PGA of Germany, said “The return of Golf Europe was a positive one with plans for further developments in 2013 and beyond. The key element is the international nature of the show that attracted visitors from more than 30 countries and opens up numerous doors and establishes new contacts”.

Golf Europe also gave Professionals the opportunity to visit the Confederation of Professional Golf and PGA of Germany “Learning Zone” in which invited speakers, such as European Senior Director of Instruction DLGA Germany, Paul Dyer, and Niall Flannagan, Managing Director of Club Inc., each speaking about their Top-3 Key Topics within their niche of the industry.

The seminars proved to be a very well received part of the show, ensuring Golf Europe covers multiple disciplines within the industry, whilst still having a strong focus on education and providing resources alongside The Confederation of Professional Golf and native PGA of Germany.
