>
The Confederation of Professional Golf [CPG] has released its new five-year strategic plan for the organisation, that will ensure a thriving CPG, a thriving Membership, and a thriving sport.

‘CPG Thrive [cp.golf/cpgthrive]’ will enable a fundamental shift in the philosophy, strategy and activities of the CPG for positive change, development and modernisation of an enlarged and more diverse membership that benefits PGA Members and the game.

Through a new #oneCPG management model, the culture of collaboration and belonging will be fostered, embracing new technologies and capitalising on the reach and expertise of our network who provide a skilled and educated workforce for the game and its players.

On the release of the new strategy, CPG Chairman, Frank Kirsten, commented: “Last year we saw the release of the new name and visual identity to become what is now the Confederation of Professional Golf.

“With an overriding belief that we are stronger together and with greater integration of our membership, explicitly outlining a renewed strategic direction was key to fulfilling the objectives of the organisation. CPG Thrive will deliver that promise, and it clearly represents a new and exciting chapter for the organisation.”

By investing in its Member Countries, in technology and innovation, and in the people that ensure the CPG’s and its stakeholders’ success, CPG Thrive appropriately positions the CPG to effectively achieve its mission, all whilst being continuously underpinned by guiding principles of Togetherness, Collaboration and Development.

The CPG’s role within Ryder Cup Europe as the sole member of the Ryder Cup European Development Trust – the charitable arm that drives and supports national and international grassroots golf projects across Europe – has also been incorporated within this new strategic direction to ensure continued alignment of CPG and RCEDT goals.

CPG Chief Executive, Ian Randell, added: “The launch of the CPG signalled not only a change of name and the opportunity to build upon 30 successful years of development and progress, but also a new dawn for the Association and as such a renewed sense of purpose, desire and strategic direction.

“Capitalising on the collective influence and expertise of our Membership will enable them to work more closely together with increased effectiveness and efficiency, whilst maintaining their independence.

“The creation of new assets, providing a world-leading value proposition to our Member Countries and their individual PGA Members, and investing in the right technologies will ensure not only the CPG and our Members thrive, but we are also able to continue to play and enhance our part in making the sport thrive.”

Technological developments will form the basis for this new investment and development, through the creation of the CPG Digital Platform and its associated services, and the provision of a state-of-the-art Learning Management System to complement a new CPG Knowledge and Development framework.

Accompanying these will be a central golf development framework that provides tailor-made strategic support to individuals, organisations and countries in advancing the development of golf. All of this will be further underpinned by a revamped commercial proposition, business focus and events schedule.
