Round three started with 11 players within two shots of the lead, but it was Schultes who took the 2018 MVK Trophy and the first prize of $10,000 after an incredible 10-under final round.

“It was a pretty special day, I only really got out of position once,” said Schultes. “I had lots of short birdie putts, which I managed to convert. You always look at fields at events like this, and when you’ve got a major winner in Michael Campbell, and a Ryder Cup Captain who has holed the winning putt at a Ryder Cup in Paul McGinley, you look at that and it’s definitely a feather in the cap.

“My wife and I had our first child at the beginning of the year so I spent some more time at home practicing rather than playing, and its nice that the swing changes I decided to make are slowly shoring up. This winter I have some more Pro-Ams and Confederation of Professional Golf events, and then next year I’ll probably go and play in China and Asia again.”

Three shots back was runner-up, Jesper Kennegard (PGA of Sweden), who posted a fantastic final round eight-under 64, for his 15-under total (201).

In tied third place was PGA of GB&I’s Andrew Marshall and 2017 Beko Classic Winner, David Lynn, closing their tournaments at 14-under par (202), whilst tied fifth went to the PGA of Spain’s Alvaro Salto and local Turkish Professional, Koray Varli, each finishing on 11-under par (205).

The Team Pro-Am event was won by Team Flo Ayakkabi, made up of amateurs Mehmet Ziylan, Baha Telli and Mehmet Kazan. The Pro-Am format saw the teams change Professional in each round, and having been aided by Peter Gustafsson, Andrew Marshall, and in Round 03, Raymond Russell, Flo Ayakkabi ended with an astonishing 285 points (-69).

Team Opet 3 climbed two places up the leaderboard into second place with 271 points (-55), and Team Beko Turkey climbed three places to finish third at 267 points (-51).
