Skills

I bring eighteen years of experience in the golf business serving predominately as a golf professional at semi private and private facilities.

Serving as a 1st Assistant Golf Professional, Head Golf Professional, and Director of Instruction throughout the years has allowed me to acquire many of the necessary tools needed to run a golfing operation.

I enjoy wearing many of the various hats required of a golf professional, some of which include running tournaments, maintaining a sound fiscal golf budget, teaching, and providing exceptional customer service to meet the demands of the club’s members and guests. I look forward to these challenges and always make the extra effort to go above and beyond.

I feel my extensive background in the golf business coupled with my passion for the game will greatly contribute to the continued growth and success of any golf club/ academy in Portugal.

Cranston Country Club, Cranston RI 4/14 – Present
Head Golf Professional
Cranston Country Club is a semi-private 18 hole facility designed by Geoffrey Cornish. The club does over 30,000 rounds per year and has just over 100 members. An average of 50 public golf outings are held yearly at the club. Cranston CC also features an all grass driving range and full banquet facility.

  • Work in the golf shop performing routine duties like checking in golfers and opening/ closing procedures. Seven day work weeks in season

  • Assist Director of Golf with running member club tournaments

  • Supervise and run weekend public outings.

  • Teach average of 600 private golf lessons per season

  • Teach several ladies clinics and junior camps throughout the year

  • Created and coached PGA Junior League team and brought US Kids Tour Championship to Cranston CC

  • Brought 12 golf outings to Cranston CC by reaching out to area businesses and charities

  • Created free advertising through trade deals with local radio stations like HJY and WEEI



GolfTEC Rhode Island, Cranston, RI 1/11 – 9/14

GolfTEC is an indoor teaching facility offering PGA instruction coupled with the use of video and custom club fitting. A lesson from GolfTEC is a unique experience as we incorporate our patented motion measurement system and advanced online retention tools. The company is a franchise with over 160 centers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Taught over 4,000 golf lessons

  • Performed over 150 custom club fittings

  • Brought in over 300 new clients and instituted a successful referral program

  • Generated over $480,000 in combined lesson and club sales since I began working for the company

Quail Ridge is a semi-private 18-hole golf club offering other amenities like tennis, pool, and a fitness center. The Mark Mungeam design is truly a stunning layout bounded by conservation land and water. The club has sixty members and is open to the public seven days a week.
  • Worked closely with General Manager to maximize profitability of the facility.

  • Instituted creative marketing ideas to generate revenues (Sold online coupon that brought in $19,000 of revenue in one 24 hour period)

  • Managed golf shop inventory purchasing, sales, and record keeping

  • Hired, trained, and supervised support staff of twenty

  • Developed new junior golf program, men’s twilight league, and tournament schedule

  • Point of contact for administering tours and selling the club to prospective members

CityGolf, Boston, MA

Director of Instruction
CityGolf is known as Boston’s premier indoor golf practice facility. CityGolf provides PGA video instruction, swing analyzer-equipped practice bays, and golf simulators. The facility has 120 members and is also open to the public.
  • Taught an average of 40 lessons per week using video and swing analyzers

  • Developed lesson plans for small and large groups

  • 30% of time spent on sales and marketing

  • Supervised support staff of four

  • Lead instructor for Boston First Tee

  • Brought in over twenty new members to facility in less than one year



Leisure World Golf Club, Silver Spring, MD 4/07 – 6/08
1st Assistant Golf Professional
Leisure World Golf Club is a private facility that services the 8,500 residents of the Leisure World community. The Leisure World of Maryland Corporation manages the golf course and individual housing units. The 18-Hole golf course is tailored for seniors and stretches to 5,142 yards from the longest tees.
  • Assisted Head Golf Professional and managed all golfing operations in his absence

  • Responsible for club fitting/ repair and majority of private/ group lessons

  • Participated in play with the pro on a weekly basis

  • Hired, trained, and supervised support staff of twelve

  • Maintained golf shop inventory purchasing and sales (increased shop sales by 25%)



The Golf Club at Lansdowne, VA

The Golf Club at Lansdowne is a private resort facility averaging forty-five thousand rounds of golf per season. The club consists of two 18-hole golf courses designed by RTJ Jr. and Greg Norman. Lansdowne also has a 9-hole Norman short course and an expansive 16-acre practice facility. There are currently 300 golfing members.

Indian Pond is a private country club with approximately 240 golfing members. The club is privately owned and is in its tenth season of operation. Architects Graves and Pascuzzo, Ltd designed this 18-hole championship course.
  • Collaborated with General Manager and Head Professional to maximize profitability of the facility.

  • Assist in supervising and training support staff of thirty

  • Organized and administered member tournaments and outings

  • Point of contact for administering tours and selling the club to prospective members

  • Instituted a solid teaching program with the intent to grow the game of golf
