Engineered with the score-lowering technologies of its adult line and inspired by its on-going commitment to introduce more juniors to the game, PING announce the next generation of its custom-fit, custom-built Prodi G junior clubs. The new Prodi G clubs are available for custom fitting and pre-order at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

Along with performance improvements throughout the set, the company is introducing WebFit Junior, a web app that recommends club specifications and set makeup based on the answers to a few questions about the junior player.

Find out more at junior.webfit.ping.com

“Focusing on the needs of junior golfers and utilising the technology of our adult product lines, we’ve advanced the performance of the new Prodi G family to deliver more distance while launching the ball higher to help ensure juniors experience consistently good shots and have fun on the course,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “We’ve also expanded the build range of the entire set, allowing us to better fit a wider height range of players using the new junior fitting app. With junior golf growing at a very high rate, we’re excited to bring all this to parents who want to get their kids started with a premium, high-performance set of clubs, custom fit and custom built just for them.”

The custom-engineered set is comprised of 10 clubs and two putter options: a 15⁰ titanium driver, 22⁰ fairway wood, 28⁰ hybrid, perimeter-weighted irons (6-9, PW), specialty wedges (54⁰ S & 58⁰ H) and tour-proven putter models (Anser and Tyne H). The lightweight clubs can be ordered in any combination. Two sizes of the Hoofer Prodi G carry bag (34″, 4.3 lbs. and 30″, 4 lbs.) can be purchased separately.

The proven technologies applied to the new Prodi G include thinner, more flexible faces to increase ball speed in the metal woods, and irons engineered with lower CGs for more distance and higher launch. The iron’s custom tuning port allows for precise swing weighting during the custom-building process. Two lightweight graphite shafts are optimised for length, weight and balance to match junior swing speeds. The two putter options offer a traditional blade or more contemporary mallet style.

To help parents find the ideal combination of clubs for their junior golfers, PING’s Fitting Science team developed WebFit Junior, a web app that recommends club specifications and set makeup based on the answers to a few questions about the player. The process takes less than two minutes to complete. The junior golfer’s skill level, age, height, wrist-to-floor and average driver distance are factored into the recommendations. Among the outputs from the data is a gapping-analysis feature that allows users to experiment with the set makeup by adding or removing clubs to see the effect on distance gaps.

“WebFit Junior is an amazing app and full of very useful features, whether the junior golfer is just getting started or is already advancing as a competitive player,” said Solheim. “It’s consistent with our commitment to providing golfers of all ages and abilities with the latest fitting technologies to help lower their scores. The gapping-analysis tool is great for parents looking to optimise a set for their young golfers. It gives them the ability to experiment with different options as they determine the best set makeup for their junior. The app also includes a Yardage Report, a printable resource detailing approximate distances by club for use on the course to help in club selection.”

The company also announced the continuation of its popular “Get Golf Growing” programme, an industry-first junior golf equipment initiative that offers custom-fit and custom-built junior clubs that include a one-time, no-cost adjustment to sets of five clubs or more. The programme helps address an all-too-common occurrence that results in a lot of junior golfers playing clubs not suited to their games.

“One of the biggest barriers parents of junior golfers face is investing in a set of clubs that their kids will outgrow in a short time,” Solheim said. “Our ‘Get Golf Growing’ programme is designed to be an affordable way to get juniors into high-performance, custom-fit clubs while bringing more boys and girls to the sport. The Prodi G clubs grow with the golfer. It’s basically two sets for the cost of one. We believe if juniors are exposed to better equipment, they’ll enjoy golf more, which will continue to grow the game as they fall in love with golf and play it for a lifetime.”

To be eligible for the “Get Golf Growing” programme, five or more clubs must be purchased in one transaction. Allowable adjustments are re-shafting, lengthening, re-weighting and re-gripping.

PING has introduced six new PING Putter models to its line-up, each engineered to achieve the ideal combination of feel and forgiveness in a confidence-inspiring look.

The new designs expand the PING Putter line to 16 models, consisting of high moment-of- inertia blades and ultra-forgiving, multi-material mid-mallets and mallets. The new Anser 2, Anser D, B60, Tyne H, Fetch and Ketsch G are available for pre-order beginning today at authorised PING golf shops around the world. Each model can be custom fit for stroke type, length, lie, loft and grip type.

“The PING Putter line combines modern design advancements with the proven technologies that helped PING set the standard in putter design 65 years ago,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO and President. “In this line, our engineers took a more individual approach with our most popular models, applying variations of our score-lowering innovations like perimeter weighting and optimised centre of gravity placement while further differentiating them through face technology and alignment features.

“It’s a very diverse offering but the one thing they all have in common is they offer precision performance on putts of every length. Golfers will have an easy time matching a model to fit their putting style, preferred alignment cues and desired feel.”

A Model To Fit Every Golfer

Golfers can choose from high-MOI blades, mid-mallets and mallets differentiated by face technology, alignment aids and finish. Traditional blades include the Anser 2, a major-winning model originally designed by PING founder Karsten Solheim, and the tour-influenced Anser D. The B60, another of Karsten’s major-winning designs that was introduced in 1979, returns to the PING lineup with a precision-milled face. The Tyne H, combining the original Tyne with an Anser hosel, and the popular Fetch (complete with its “gimme” ball-pickup feature) fit in the mallet category along with the Ketsch G, an easy-to-align, multi-material model engineered for maximum forgiveness. All three stroke types (Straight, Slight, Strong) are represented within the 16-model PING Putter selection.

Fit For Feel

From firm milled faces to soft-feeling inserts, the face technology is engineered based on feedback from our tour staff to match a variety of feel preferences and deliver control and consistency on putts of every length. In the six new additions to the line, four models (Anser 2, Anser D, B60, Tyne H) feature the firm feel of a shallowed milled face and two (Fetch, Ketsch G) provide the soft feel of a PEBAX insert.

Aligned For Success

The new putters offer different alignment solutions to fit the eye of a variety of golfers, including single alignment cues or multiple lines to improve accuracy and inspire confidence. The use of a glare-diffusing raw blast finish in four models and black PVD in the other two provides enhanced contrast to assist in alignment and create a premium appearance. For golfers who prefer the influence of the darker look with white sight lines, the Ketsch G and Tyne H will best fit their eye. The Anser 2, Anser D, B60 and Fetch feature the striking raw blast finish with contrasting black alignment lines.

Model descriptions (all models £280 RRP)

Anser 2: Like the timeless Anser, heel-toe weighting provides stability and forgiveness though in a slightly longer and narrower profile. Its shallow milled face ensures a firmer response and consistent roll. The ball-width cavity, sharper ballasts and clean geometry all offer alignment cues in this model featuring a new glare-diffusing raw blast finish.

Anser D: Tour pros were consulted in creating this model with a deeper (“D”) profile as a hybrid between the Anser blade and a mallet design, the extra mass is useful in stabilising the stroke for maximum forgiveness. The shallow milled face ensures a firmer response and consistent roll. A new glare-diffusing raw blast finish contributes to the eye-pleasing visuals.

B60: The B60, a long-time PING fan favorite, is back with a shallow milled face that ensures a firmer response and consistent roll. Golfers are familiar with the thin top rail with rounded ballasts, contoured shaping and center alignment line in this balanced, forgiving model. Also new is the glare-diffusing raw blast finish.

Tyne H: The twin-fork design is paired with an Anser hosel to provide multiple alignment cues and help square the putter at impact. The shallow milled face ensures a firmer response and consistent roll. Perimeter weighting and an optimised CG position allow for balance, stability, forgiveness and accuracy. A ball-width cavity and contrasting white alignment line promote confident aiming.

Fetch: A dual-density PEBAX face insert delivers a soft feel on shorter putts and a stable feel on longer lag putts. Made putts are easy to retrieve using the sole cutout that’s not only handy – it creates discretionary mass we use to increase MOI and forgiveness. Fetch fans laud the more compact profile as easy to aim. Ball-width alignment lines and a new glare-diffusing raw blast finish aid in the process.

Ketsch G: Its aluminium body and stainless steel sole plate pair with an optimised CG to create extreme forgiveness and stability. The dual-density PEBAX face insert delivers a soft feel on shorter putts and a stable feel on longer lag putts. The ball pickup feature on the sole is more than convenient – it allows for redistributing mass to increase MOI. A trio of contrasting sight lines frame the ball to simplify alignment.

Building on its commitment to make golf easier and more enjoyable through equipment innovation and custom fitting for golfers of all skill levels, PING introduced the G730 iron today, a distance-delivering, high-launching design engineered with score-lowering forgiveness and consistency.

The custom-built G730 irons are available for custom fittings and pre-order at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

“The G730 irons are engineered for golfers who can benefit from more distance and a higher level of forgiveness and consistency to shoot lower scores,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “The new G730 brings them all that in an easy-to-hit, confidence-inspiring design. It’s the longest and most forgiving iron in our current lineup and is a great solution to help maximise the performance of a lot of golfers. We’re excited to bring them an iron that’s engineered to make the game easier and more enjoyable.”

Higher Launch, More Distance

Maximising ball speed was the primary objective in the design of the G730 iron, helping ensure shots that launch higher and fly farther for golfers who struggle with consistent face contact.

By unlocking the exceptional strength properties of hyper 17-4 stainless steel through an advanced heat treatment, our engineers thinned the larger face to increase flexing and help lower the centre of gravity, leading to significant ball-speed gains and several more yards of distance with every iron in the set. The larger face expands the hitting surface, preserving ball speed and ensuring forgiveness on mishits. The PurFlex cavity badge, with multiple flex zones, helps control face bending while enhancing feel and producing a powerful sound.

“The added ball speed is the real difference maker in the G730 iron,” Solheim said. “It helps get the ball in the air easier and gives golfers the distance they need to hit shorter irons into the green with a higher max height, so their shots hit and hold, improving their chances of more makeable birdie putts.”

Forgiveness, Consistency

The larger head and wider sole in the investment-cast design increases the MOI in both axes, and a lower centre of gravity elevates forgiveness for improved accuracy and consistency. Golfers will also notice more offset in the cavity-back design, a key contributor to getting the ball airborne easier and more consistently. The performance-enhancing hydropearl chrome 2.0 finish helps ensure consistent launch results from varying conditions.

“Since my grandfather, Karsten Solheim, pioneered forgiveness 65 years ago with the invention of perimeter weighting, golfers have come to expect the highest levels of performance from PING irons,” Solheim said. “The G730 iron furthers that reputation in a way that would make Karsten proud. Our engineers have applied modern design techniques to his proven theories, bringing golfers the forgiveness and consistency they need to improve their accuracy and lower their scores by hitting more greens.”

Custom-Engineered Lofts

With an eye toward increasing distance but also optimising gaps to best fit the golfer, the standard lofts are custom engineered to ensure set configurations that maximise performance throughout the bag. The four wedges in the set feature machined faces and grooves for added control. The option of power (stronger) and retro (weaker) spec lofts allows fitters to further optimise performance.

“The importance of gapping and getting the correct set makeup is a concept I’d encourage golfers to pay more attention to,” said Solheim. “The more data we analyse through our Arccos partnership, the stronger the case becomes that properly gapped sets play a big part in a golfer’s performance. It’s especially important for many of the golfers who fit the G730 iron profile as they likely need to transition into hybrids and fairway woods somewhere around the five or six iron. Our fitting science team has developed some tremendous gapping insights and applied them to our Co-Pilot digital fitting tool platform, which a lot of authorised PING fitters use in their environments. It’s an area of data science research that’s leading to some very exciting applications for improving the fitting process and helping golfers get the most out of their equipment.”

Focusing on the needs of golfers in search of more distance who prefer the look of a blade, PING introduced the i530 today, a premium iron model engineered to deliver higher ball speeds with precision for score-lowering performance.

The i530 irons are available for custom fittings and pre-order at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

“The continued popularity of distance irons has been an interesting and fun challenge for our engineers, especially in the players category where there is such an emphasis on the look of the iron,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “In the case of the i530 iron, we’ve developed a stunning design that delivers significant distance gains through its innovative face technology along with the added benefit of control. We refer to it as a ‘playable distance’ iron. It appeals to the golfer whose primary goal is more distance who also relies on the precision of a players-style iron. That means longer irons shots with the consistency and predictability to stop the ball closer to the hole.”

Players Distance, Players Control

Distance gains come from multiple sources, including an internal weight pad that provides a deeper and thinner face-to-sole transition, ensuring more face flexing and pushing mass down to lower the centre of gravity for more ball speed. The forged, highly flexible maraging steel C300 face is precisely welded to a 17-4 stainless steel hollow body. A polymer applied inside the head on the back of the face improves feel and sound while maximising face bending.

The body design contributes to distance by accentuating face bending. The lower CG is more aligned with where impact occurs, and distance-optimised lofts help ensure more distance and higher max height for green-holding results. Three loft configurations (Standard, Power, and Retro) are available to optimise a golfer’s launch conditions during the custom fitting process.

Premium Look, Premium Performance

Blade enthusiasts will appreciate the thin top line, narrow sole and shallow face height. The i530’s clean, premium look features a new machining technique that thins the back wall of the hollow-body design, saving weight to increase forgiveness and tighten dispersion for greater accuracy along with the added distance. Precision-milled MicroMax grooves combine with the hydropearl chrome 2.0 finish to ensure consistent launch and spin from all conditions.

“We’re seeing significant distance gains with the i530 iron mainly due to its higher face flexing and bending,” said Solheim. “It’s a great fit for the golfer whose top priority is more distance, including someone who may have lost yards with their current irons over time. It also has a level of forgiveness not typically found in distance irons. It’s packed with performance. It looks great, feels great and more importantly, will lead to lower scores and more enjoyment on the course.”

Combining short-game-changing performance with industry-leading fitting software, PING introduced the s159 wedge series today, its next generation of specialty wedges engineered to bring golfers more spin and control into and around greens.

The tour-proven s159 wedges are offered in 25 loft/grind combinations and are available for custom fitting and pre-sell beginning today at authorised PING golf shops around the world.

“The new wedges represent our most extensive and versatile wedge line to date, significantly advancing wedge performance and expanding fitting options,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “They are already winning on Tour and we’re seeing a lot of players converting to them around the world. They love the clean look, the soft feel and, most importantly, the ability to launch and spin their shots with precise control. With six grinds designed to perform in a variety of playing conditions and techniques, we have a wedge to fit every golfer.”

“In conjunction with the new wedges, we’re excited to introduce the WebFit Wedge app. It’s a web-based app engineered to help golfers find the best grinds and gapping solutions for their games. It’s a quick and easy experience to help golfers cut through a lot of the confusion associated with buying wedges, ultimately making a recommendation on which s159 wedges will allow them to greatly improve their performance around the greens.”

Tour-Inspired Design Fits All Golfers

Extensive testing with PING tour players helped create a wedge series that will appeal to golfers of all abilities. The 8620 carbon steel head is cast to an eye-pleasing shape with a straighter lead edge, a design feature especially beneficial on full shots. An elastomer insert behind the face contributes to the soft and responsive feel. At address, the compact head features an improved hosel transition with constant offset that blends seamlessly into the new Blueprint S and T irons. The s159 wedges are available in two performance-enhancing finishes in all 25 loft/grind combinations. Golfers can choose PING’s proven Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish or Midnight, a new darker option that provides an attractive, anti-glare appearance.

More Consistency and Control

Wheel-cut grooves are precision-milled to help ensure consistency while minimizing the variations in spin in various conditions, leading to more control. The 54-to-62-degree options feature more tightly spaced MicroMax grooves. The 46-to-52-degree wedges are milled for greater control on full shots. In combination with a friction-adding face blast, the s159 wedges deliver the launch and spin control to execute score-lowering wedge shots from every distance.

From a spin comparison standpoint, the s159 wedges deliver strong results in the company’s much acclaimed “wet to dry” test. Performed in a controlled environment hitting 50-yard shots indoors with moisture applied to the face and ball, it’s a key factor in validating on-course performance.

“Our R&D team has gained a lot of notoriety for this test, which has revealed remarkable performance results when applied to our last several wedge models,” Solheim said. “A lot of fitters refer to it as the ‘spray-bottle test.’ The s159 consistently leads in the wet testing, out-performing other wedges. Considering it’s rare when a shot doesn’t encounter some level of moisture or loss of friction, this type of control provides a clear and convincing short-game advantage.”

Easy-to-use, Educational Web-based App Helps Fit Golfers

The WebFit Wedge app provides golfers a quick and easy way to determine the wedge grind that best fits their game. Golfers answer a series of questions about their short game, including their typical playing conditions and technique, which results in two grind suggestions. They can then take those recommendations to a fitter who can help validate them and further fine-tune the specs of the wedge. The app, which takes just a few minutes to complete, also provides gapping information to help the player build out their wedge set.

“It’s no secret shopping for wedges can be confusing as golfers try to understand all the nuances of a wedge’s design and what’s best for them,” said Solheim. “With our new WebFit Wedge app, our goal is to simplify the process of finding a wedge that fits the golfer while also educating them why a particular grind is best for them. It was developed in-house by our data scientists and relies on our massive collection of wedge data, much of it mined from our relationship with Arccos, to make very precise recommendations.”

“The app doesn’t require downloading, logging in or signing up for anything. It’s a very simple experience but very rewarding for users. It will be accessible via a QR code in golf shops and on ping.com. We strongly encourage golfers to engage the app in their wedge-buying process.”

Five new models represent the newest additions to the Putting Lab Design (PLD) programme, PING CEO & President John K. Solheim announced today.

The 2024 PLD Milled Anser, Anser 2D, Oslo 3 and DS72 and Ally Blue 4 are available at PING authorised retailers committed to selling premium, custom-fit putters.

“We’ve been very pleased with the results and feedback across the entire PLD programme,” said Solheim. “It allows us to bring golfers more of what we do best – design and build the highest-performing putters in the game. A key part of the program is the PLD Milled series, which offers premium, milled putters inspired by tour players to bring golfers the latest in score-lowering performance on the green. These five new designs continue that commitment and offer every golfer a model to fit their stroke and eye.”

Tour-Inspired, Tour-Proven

The five new PLD Milled models (UK RRP £450) represent a combination of standard-setting favourites like the Anser and newer, tour-proved models like the DS72, the choice of 2023 FedEx Cup Champion Viktor Hovland. The Anser 2D and Oslo 3 are tour-influenced, high-MOI designs and the Ally Blue 4 is a new, multi-material mallet that delivers exceptional forgiveness with can’t-miss alignment features.

Four of the new models (Anser, Anser 2D, DS72 and Oslo 3) are fully machined from forged, 303 stainless steel and each is distinguished by an attractive gun-metal finish. The deep AMP (Aggressive Milling Pattern) face technology on all the models is precisely milled for tour-preferred sound, feel and speed. More than four hours of milling time are required for every model, precisely shaping every surface and radius to achieve the high quality and premium look expected in a precision-milled putter.

The Ally Blue 4 is a fully machined, three-piece design differentiated by its square footprint and full length, top alignment aid. The strong arc design consists of an aluminium body, stainless steel soleplate and aluminium hosel to create an extremely high MOI, easy to align mallet. The gunmetal finish contrasts with a matte black body and hosel to create a stunning, confidence- inspiring design.

“Part of our goal with the PLD programme is to offer our most popular models from the past and add new, tour-influenced designs on a regular basis,” Solheim said. “This year’s additions represent an exciting balance of that strategy. As we collaborate on new designs with our engineers and tour staff through the PLD programme, we’ll expand the line to ensure golfers have access to our newest technologies and processes.”

The new women’s Autumn/Winter 2024 range from PING reaches new heights, with interchanging garments complementing a host of different looks that make it easy for female golfers to create multiple fashionable outfits.

New innovative technology drives this expansive range of clothing, in addition to three new print stories that encompass timeless elegance: with comfort, playability and style at the core. The breadth of choice within the collection allows golfers to express their individuality by layering up in coordinated printed patterns or simply keep their style sleek in the new sporty silhouettes, all available in this season’s colours and textures.

Terrazo, the first of three print stories, is a textured print that incorporates a natural, warm autumnal palette for a selection of on-trend outfits. The Monogram print exudes classic luxury, with a unique and symbolic combination of the women’s PING logo for a repeated premium print. Finally, the Diffused Florals print includes an abstract design for a floral camo effect; a bolder option for those seeking a sophisticated, sporty look.

Milli, a new high-end waterproof, features a monogram embossed pattern on the front panels, back vent and lower sleeves and is constructed in a two-layer breathable fabric, designed in a flattering silhouette, to keep you dry and stylish out on the course. The jacket also has a useful adjustable hood which packs into the collar, for ultimate protection during wet weather and the cosy brushed tricot lined areas provide warmth and cosiness on colder days.

An exciting new stand out style is the Gem, a lightweight hybrid hooded jacket with wind and water resistance. The insulation in the front and back panels utilises PING’s SensorWarm® technology for core warmth, while the stretch fabric throughout creates a complimentary fit. This incredibly versatile jacket is a must for golfers, as it is the perfect solution for an on-course thermal, or an off-course winter warmer.

Layering garments in this season’s range couldn’t be simpler, making it easier than ever to create fresh and modern outfits. The insulated Flo vest, with its chic collarless design, makes layering a seamless process by slipping it under outerwear or over mid-layers; with the added benefits of the lightweight and breathable Sorona® Aura insulation and windproof stretch side panels, the Flo will give you a thermal boost and great look.

The Lolette, a printed long sleeve top engineered for moisture-moving comfort in all conditions, comes in three stylish colourways with a peached fabric for enhanced softness – an ideal garment to wear underneath an outerwear option, like the Bryony insulated reversible vest, for full freedom of movement.

The Autumn Winter season means sweater weather is in full swing. Step onto the course in one of PING’s new knitwear styles; the Jeanie roll neck has been designed to effortlessly complement the new insulated vests in the collection and with highlight colour details, it makes it super easy to style for the season. Crafted from a merino blend, this style provides next to the skin warmth and comfort, perfect for layering.

A lined sweater never goes out of style and this season PING has two to choose from; the Elspeth is a hybrid knit, which combines merino blend knitted details with an insulted quilted front body, making it a versatile must have, offering maximum comfort and style on the course. The Kaylah is a timeless fully lined sweater featuring a seamless deep neckline with direction ribs giving this a modern update for the season.

PING also continues its support for the Solheim Cup in 2024, as the official apparel supplier for the European team. Details of the replica kit will be available nearer the time.

With the addition of a water-resistant finish to this cosy brushed back stretch fleece, it’s the perfect mid-layer for winter golf.

A long-time leader in iron innovation and performance, today PING introduced the Blueprint S and Blueprint T, two new forged iron models engineered and custom built for golfers seeking to improve their games through tour-proven technology.

The Blueprint S and Blueprint T are available for custom fittings and pre-order at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

“Our two Blueprint irons represent a new strategy for us in the forged-iron category,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “With the forged and forgiving cavity-back design of the “S” and the traditional muscle-back shape of the “T”, we’re targeting a wider range of golfers who prefer tour-style forged irons. The Blueprint name is a signal to skilled golfers looking for control, precision and feel from their irons. As the name implies, no details have been overlooked in the development of the new irons. Both models are engineered and manufactured to exact standards and deliver the performance expected in a PING iron.”

“We’ve already seen multiple tour wins with the Blueprint S, including by PING Pro Sahith Theegala, who earned his first PGA Tour title last fall in his first tournament with the new irons,” said Solheim. “Louis Oosthuizen won back-to-back weeks with a combo set of the Blueprint S and T irons, an approach we planned for by matching the standard lofts of each set, allowing golfers to blend their preferred models within our precision-iron line. The tour adoption is growing almost daily as we begin the new tour season.”

Blueprint S Overview

Developed following extensive testing with top PING professionals, the Blueprint S delivers score-lowering performance in a forged cavity-back design. Much of the design influence can be attributed to PING’s long line of tour-proven “S” series irons.

The compact shape fits the discerning eye with a thin top line and minimal offset. The forged 8620 carbon steel head boasts a clean cavity design, distinguished by an eye-catching textured pattern and hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish. An elastomer insert is concealed in the pocket of the irons ensuring the solid feel and sound expected in a forged players iron. A high-density toe screw and shaft tip weight allow for swingweight fine-tuning.

“The Blueprint S is going to be a pleasant surprise for a lot of golfers who might not think they are good enough to play them,” Solheim said. “Its design speaks to the lower handicap, but its technology broadens its appeal to the player who is looking for a forged, blade-style iron that’s a little easier to hit but still delivers the look and feel expected in a blade.”

An Industry First

A patented construction technology called “Precision Pocket Forging” in the Blueprint S allows for a pocket to be forged into the cavity of the 3, 4 and 5 irons. The pocket saves 10 grams of weight, which is re-allocated to increase the MOI and optimise the centre of gravity position for more distance and trajectory control.

“The ability to design a pocket into a forged iron in this way is an industry first,” said Solheim. “It’s a brilliant collaboration between PING engineers and our supplier who thankfully accepted the challenge, and we developed a solution to a never-before solved problem. Until now, this level of long-iron forgiveness and the forging process have been mutually exclusive. We’re excited to bring this score-lowering technology to golfers.”

Blueprint T Overview

For the highly skilled golfer who relies on workability and prefers the size and look of a muscle back, the Blueprint T is engineered as a single-piece, 8620 carbon steel forging that puts a premium on trajectory control and superb feel. Its muscle-back design concentrates mass through the impact zone to ensure a pleasing sound and feel with the workability to take on any shot.

A shorter heel-face height allows the hosel transition to blend smoothly into the top rail, creating a clean, distraction-free appearance at address. The narrow soles enable consistent turf interaction from all conditions. Precision-milled grooves ensure the preferred launch and spin for players who rely on pinpoint control. A high-density toe screw and tip weight provide precise swingweight control and a slight boost in MOI.

“Traditionally, an iron like the Blueprint T relies as much on the skill level of the player as it does on the technology,” Solheim said. “We understand that, but we’re always looking for ways to improve every iron we design. In the Blueprint T, every detail is extremely precise and calculated to ensure the performance demanded from a forged blade. It’s a true shot-maker’s iron crafted with precision, for precision.”

The Blueprint T standard lofts match the Blueprint S and i230 irons to allow golfers to create blended sets within PING’s precision iron offerings. The standard length of the Blueprint T 3-9 irons is ¼” shorter than Blueprint S to promote a lower ball flight.

Founded by Karsten Solheim nearly 65 years ago on the concept of engineering more-forgiving, easier-to-hit golf clubs, PING continues that never-ending pursuit with today’s introduction of the G430 MAX 10K driver, its highest MOI, most forgiving and straightest driver to date.

The G430 MAX 10K driver is available for custom fittings and pre-order at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

“Our new G430 MAX 10K joins the G430 driver family and earns the distinction of being the most forgiving driver we’ve ever engineered,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “The ‘10K’ in the name refers to its record-setting combined MOI that exceeds 10,000 g-cm². It’s a great addition to our G430 driver line, giving golfers another custom-fitting option loaded with innovations. It has a lot of the proven performance of the G430 MAX driver, but differs in several ways from a design standpoint, including a fixed backweight, larger head profile, and a Carbonfly Wrap crown – each contributing to the new level of forgiveness.”

“It’s been a lot of fun to watch people hit the G430 MAX 10K. Everyone comments how straight it is, which ultimately leads to more distance for the golfer,” Solheim said. “It fits a wide range of golfers, from players who rely heavily on forgiveness for more distance and accuracy off the tee all the way to tour pros, who are seeing lower spin and increased ball speed as the result of swinging more aggressively, knowing the forgiveness will help them find more fairways. We’re excited to add the MAX 10K to our driver mix. We encourage golfers to experience a PING driver custom fitting and compare their launch-monitor results to help find the G430 driver that best fits their game. Whether it’s the new MAX 10K, the MAX, the LST or SFT, we’re confident there’s a PING G430 driver for every golfer.”

Combined MOI exceeds 10,000 g-cm²

The fixed tungsten backweight in the multi-material 460cc head contributes to the record-setting MOI as it drives mass down and back to increase forgiveness and optimise the centre of gravity position, lowering spin and ensuring ball-speed preservation across the clubface for added distance. The heavier backweight (28g) is in part achieved by weight savings of 5g from the Carbonfly Wrap crown (13g installed) to create a powerful combination of accuracy and distance to meet the performance needs of all golfers.

PING’s biggest head profile to date maximises the USGA-allowable heel-toe and front-back dimensions to extend the perimeter weighting, adding to the forgiveness while staying within the 460cc volume limit. The larger, confidence-inspiring head helps square the golfer to the target and produces a less muted and slightly louder sound than the G430 MAX to give golfers a sense of even more powerful, satisfying tee shots.

Thinner, forgiving face design

PING engineers advanced the face technology of the G430 driver family by thinning the forged T9S+ titanium face of the G430 MAX 10K. The shallow face height and variable face thickness (VFT) are optimised for more flexing to ensure faster ball speeds. Spinsistency, a variable face curvature innovation, delivers consistent spin across the entire face, helping preserve ball speed on mis-hits for more distance and accuracy.

G430 MAX 10K HL (High Launch)

The lighter overall weight of the G430 MAX 10K HL driver offers all the technology and performance of the standard version, including the record-setting MOI, for slower-swing-speed golfers who don’t generate sufficient clubhead speed and ball velocity from traditionally weighted clubs. Custom engineered and custom built at 46” with a lighter backweight (19g), ultra-light shafts (PING Alta Quick 35/45) and grip (Lamkin UTx Lite, 41g), the result is a lower overall system weight so golfers can swing faster and generate more ball speed for higher-launching, longer-carrying and straighter tee shots. Available in 9.0°, 10.5°, and 12.0° lofts.

Juan Postigo Arce, currently ranked number four in the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), has officially been announced as a PING Ambassador on a multi-year contract.

The 25-year-old, from Northern Spain, was born without much of his right leg and no knee but has been an avid golfer since the age of 12 and has since gone on to become one of the most recognised faces within the European Disabled Golf Association.

Postigo has already seen success since the start of his professional career, with a win at the 2021 Madrid Disabled Open and the 2021 European Championship for Golfers with Disability – for the third consecutive time. Earlier this year, Postigo also claimed his maiden victory on the G4D Tour at the Hero Cup in Abu Dhabi, securing a two-stroke victory.

“For me, it is a privilege to be working with a brand like PING; with their family essence and relationship, along with their technology and engineering, as their two fundamental pillars,” commented Postigo.

“As you know, I was born with a malformation on my right leg. The way my parents educated me was very brave and they encouraged sports to be a very important value in my life. I started sailing, then skiing and, at the age of 12 and thanks to my grandfather, I discovered golf. From the very start it caught my attention as the only sport that would allow me to compete against others – with or without disability.”

During the 2023 season, Postigo will play a full EDGA schedule alongside the G4D (Golf for the Disabled) Tour – all of which are closely linked to the DP World Tour tournaments, played on the same course during the same tournament week.

Among the 14 PING clubs in Postigo’s bag are a G430 driver and fairway woods, i230 irons, and Glide 4.0 wedges. He is also a PING Apparel Ambassador.

Unlocking more speed and distance through engineering innovations like Carbonfly Wrap without sacrificing its industry-leading forgiveness, PING have introduced the G430 family in North America, Europe and South America.

“The combined distance gains throughout the entire G430 family are like nothing we’ve seen from one generation of clubs to the next,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “Our approach with G430 has been to find more speed and deliver it in a way that contributes to lower scores and more enjoyment on the course. That includes providing a level of forgiveness that remains unequalled. The powerful combination of distance and forgiveness wins out when golfers are properly fitted. We see that every day in our research and we’re excited to get the G430 into the hands of golfers so they can see the same benefits.

“The tour adoption was exceptional last fall, with almost 30 drivers in play on the PGA Tour the first week out, and multiple wins around the world since its introduction. Our staff appreciates the added ball speed of the driver and fairway woods and loves the sound. They are seeing from 2 to 4 mph gains in ball speed from the driver, which even the best players in the world are happy to find from their equipment alone.”

The new custom-fit, custom-built G430 family consists of three driver models (MAX, LST, SFT), two fairway-wood designs (MAX, SFT) in multiple lofts, six hybrid choices and an iron set (4-9, PW, 45.5°, 50°, 54°, 58°). For slower-swing-speed golfers, all of the clubs except the LST driver can be custom built with lighter head weights, the ultralight PING ALTA Quick shaft and a lighter grip as part of the G430 HL (High Launch) option.

G430 Drivers

In the new drivers, PING’s engineering team developed several new technologies common to all three models while applying specific advancements to each individual head, producing measurable ball-speed gains while improving sound throughout the series. The added ball speed is attributed to a shallower and thinner VFT forged face design engineered with Spinsistency, a variable roll radius technology proven on the G425 fairway woods and hybrids. The improved and pleasing sound is the result of fine-tuning the frequencies of the head through a new internal rib structure.

The MAX is Still The MAX

The MAX (460cc) remains the most forgiving and fits the widest range of golfers. A 25-gram, high-density tungsten moveable backweight influences shot shape ±8 yards between the Draw, Neutral and Fade settings. Available in 9°, 10.5° and 12° lofts. Loft is adjustable ±1.5° and lie up to 3° flat from standard using the 8-setting Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel.

“The MAX is the workhorse,” Solheim said. “It fits every skill level, from tour players to higher handicaps. The increases in ball speed are remarkable and the sound is creating a very favorable conversation. When you combine those advancements with its industry-leading forgiveness, the MAX will win a lot of battles in comparison testing in the fitting environment.”

Introducing The LST With Carbonfly Wrap Technology

Exclusive to the LST (Low Spin Technology) driver is Carbonfly Wrap, a lightweight composite that covers the crown and wraps into the heel/toe sections of the skirt to save weight and lower the CG for more ball speed, less spin and higher MOI. The 8-layer, one-piece composite saves four grams and weighs 11.5g fully installed. A moveable 22-gram, high-density tungsten backweight influences shot shape ±7 yards between the Draw, Neutral and Fade settings. At 440cc, the smaller tour-style LST is available in 9° and 10.5° lofts (adjustable ±1.5° and lie up to 3° flat from standard) and best fits faster swing speeds.

“With recent manufacturing advancements and the smaller head size of the G430 LST, the time is right to bring this technology to golfers,” said Solheim. “It’s quickly becoming the favorite of our tour players, who are enjoying the ball-speed gains while raving about the look, feel and sound.”

Adjustable Backweight in SFT

New to the SFT (Straight Flight Technology) head (460cc) is a two-setting, moveable tungsten backweight (22g) that positions the CG to deliver 13 yards of right-to-left shot bend in the Draw setting and another 7 yards in the Draw+ (20 yards total). Available in 10.5° loft (adjustable ±1.5° and lie up to 3° flat from standard).

“Our SFT technology reinforces our commitment to custom fitting,” Solheim said. “It’s a tremendous option for golfers who consistently slice the ball. The reality is more golfers could benefit from this type of technology, so we’ve added the two-setting backweight to allow for further adjustments in shot bend as necessary.”

G430 Irons

The multi-material iron produces distance gains of approximately 7 to 10 yards and improved accuracy throughout the set. Our longest iron ever is the result of a complex design that combines a lower CG with stronger, custom- engineered lofts and a thinner face that delivers up to 2 more mph of ball speed – leading to significant distance gains without compromising PING’s famous forgiveness.

A key contributor to the added distance is the PurFlex cavity badge, an innovation with seven flex zones that allow more free bending to increase ball speed across the face. In combination with a lower CG, the badge contributes to the solid feel and pleasing impact sound. The stronger lofts across the set resulted in the addition of a 41° PW to ensure proper gapping options and allowed for standard lofts in the traditional scoring wedges (45.5°, 50°, 54°, 58°).

“Our ability to make this iron so much longer while maintaining all the other important attributes golfers need from their irons like forgiveness, stopping power and gapping alternatives is one of the most impressive engineering stories throughout the entire G430 line,” said Solheim. “We know golfers want more distance from their irons but distance without control doesn’t lead to lower scores. That’s why we put so much emphasis on designing an iron that not only goes a very long way, but it flies higher, straighter and lands softer.”

Among the refinements to the overall shape is a shorter hosel, which creates a more compact, clean look and helps lower the CG, aligning it closer to the force line to increase ball speed and ensure solid impact, especially low on the face. Approximately 1° of additional bounce throughout the set provides clean turf interaction and pure strikes, minimizing “heavy” shots that come up short. The high-density tungsten toe and shaft tip weights contribute to its high MOI and produce tighter dispersion patterns. The hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish delivers consistent performance from wet or dry grass.

G430 Fairway Woods

In all of the G430 fairway woods, we’ve developed Carbonfly Wrap to deliver more distance by positioning the CG closer to the force line to maximize ball speed, resulting in higher, longer carries, whether fit for the MAX or SFT model. The lightweight composite crown wraps into the heel and toe sections of the skirt, creating weight savings of 10 grams, which are reallocated to achieve the lower CG and increase ball speed. The composite also plays a role in the pleasing sound. A tungsten backweight extends the perimeter weighting to ensure forgiveness.

Two proven technologies from the previous generation carry over and contribute to distance gains and spin consistency across the clubface. With Facewrap technology, a variable-thickness, high-strength maraging-steel face wraps into the sole and crown of the stainless-steel head, generating more flexing for faster ball speed and higher launch for greater distance. The variable roll radius of Spinsistency improves performance across the face (especially on thin shots) by reducing spin to increase ball speed from the maraging-steel face.

Each of the models is engineered to help produce added distance and forgiveness for a variety of skill levels. The MAX fits the widest range of golfers with four options, while the slightly larger head size of the SFT is offered in three lofts with lighter swingweights to help square the face at impact. Trajectory Tuning 2.0 provides eight hosel positions, adjusting for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.).

G430 Hybrids

The new G430 hybrids are loaded with innovations like Carbonfly Wrap, our newest technology and the key to more distance and green-holding stopping power. Alongside proven technologies Facewrap technology and Spinsistency, they deliver the speed and performance golfers need to take on any approach shot. With six loft options (2H/17°, 3H/19°, 4H/22°, 5H/26°, 6H/30°, 7/34°) they are ideal mid- and long-iron replacements to help fill distance gaps in a player’s game. The lightweight, 8-position hosel enables adjustments for loft (±1.5°) and lie (up to 3° flatter than std.) to further dial in ball flight for the best results.

The Carbonfly Wrap saves eight grams of weight (compared to a steel crown) that is allocated to lower the CG for increasing ball speed while providing a pleasing sound. Using Facewrap technology, the thin, high-strength maraging-steel face wraps into the sole and crown of the stainless-steel body to increase flexing, contributing to the higher ball speeds. Spinsistency’s variable roll radius creates less loft low on the face to improve performance on thin shots by reducing spin and increasing ball speed for added distance. A tungsten backweight extends the perimeter weighting to ensure forgiveness.

“The popularity of our hybrids continues to grow,” said Solheim. “They’ve quietly become one of our most successful categories. They’ve earned a reputation as easy-to-hit, reliable gapping solutions to mid and long irons known mainly for their forgiveness. With the added distance golfers will now enjoy from the G430 hybrids, it’s one more reason to get fit for a PING hybrid.”

G430 Hybrid Specifications

Available: 2H (17°), 3H (19°), 4H (22°), 5H (26°), 6H (30°), 7H (34°)

UK RRP: £295 each

G430 HL (High Launch)

The G430 HL build is a new full-set custom-fitting option with the same score-lowering technology of the standard G430 series for slower swing speed golfers who don’t generate sufficient clubhead speed and ball velocity from traditionally weighted clubs. Custom engineered with lighter backweights (11g in driver and 5.5g in fairways and hybrids), ultra-light shafts (PING ALTA Quick 35/45) and grip (Lamkin UTx light,41g), we’ve lowered the overall system weight so golfers can swing faster and generate more ball speed for higher-launching, longer-carrying shots across the entire set. Available in G430 MAX and SFT drivers and fairway woods, hybrids (3-7) and irons.

PING Apparel continue to expand their Spring/Summer range, showcasing their commitment to supporting the women’s game. Building off success from previous years, the new range becomes their largest to date and gives women the opportunity to choose from a variety of garments – with outfit choice and versatility at the forefront.

With four brand new print stories and head-to-toe products across a variety of colours and patterns, the new range offers increased choice to women golfers and supplements the performance driven engineering of all the garments within the range.

The first print collection is the Split Ball Polka Dot – drawing inspiration from the iconic PING two-tone split golf balls. This fun, polka dot print design is kept simple and stylish with a palette of black, white and the on-trend, calming tone, Cool Lilac.

The Laguna Beach collection is made up of a textured print, which is inspired by the underwater world. With a punchy, fresh print that uses impactful colours, the collection combines aqua tones and contrasting hot Flamingo pink. This palette can also be offset with navy and white as a classic base.

The Mono Flower print collection incorporates a timeless floral print, updated with a stencil effect design, using mono tones and a highlight of Cool Lilac for a striking effect. Embodying both a crisp coolness and a soft femininity, the Cool Lilac evokes a sense of serenity and balance – the perfect combination for a flattering look both on and off-course.

Finally, the Op-Art print collection completes the four print stories and is designed to create a statement for those looking for a bolder look, with graphic lines and shapes to bring some psychedelic sophistication to this abstract print collection. The placement of the print detail elegantly emerges from the bottom, allowing the entire print to be appreciated even when tucked into complimentary garments.

This season see’s the introduction of the Carla dress, engineered for comfort and freedom of movement out on the course. With SensorCool® technology, female golfers can be confident they can play their best in this flattering, yet technically impressive garment. With an open ribbed V-neck and mandarin style collar for a feminine feel, as well as detachable undershorts, this dress provides an incredibly modest and graceful look.

Furthermore, the collection has an impressive variety of trousers – with a fit and style to suit all golfers. The Vic is a new addition to the trouser offering, cut in a sophisticated 7/8 length. This style features an elastic waistband detail at the back and is finished with pressed creased fronts to provide a smart, tailored silhouette – the perfect modern golf trouser for the summer season.

This new addition joins an already successful collection of trousers, including the contemporary slim leg Verity trouser, which has a four-way stretch fabric for superior comfort and freedom of movement. The Margo trouser is another popular choice, offering a classic silhouette using SensorCool® cotton for refined performance and stretch.

Engineered with a distinct focus on performance, comfort and style, the SS23 men’s range from PING has a strong focus on two design capsules, both taking inspiration from the long-standing heritage that PING possesses and is an incredibly expansive range with a variety of choice to satisfy the style requirements for every golfer.

The Split Ball capsule draws inspiration from the classic two-tone golf ball design that PING founder, Karsten Solheim, first introduced in 1983. The capsule consists of a range of performance garments that feature colours, patterns and prints that pay tribute to the iconic two-tone golf ball.

The second capsule pays homage to the iconic Mr. PING logo, a widely recognised symbolic figure within the golf industry that was originally crafted in clay by a young John A. Solheim in 1967. The SS23 men’s collection encompasses this quintessential symbol within a curated capsule of technical polos, shorts and coordinating accessories, all featuring this whimsical caricature of a golfer.

In conjunction with these key heritage themes, the collection introduces three new colour stories for the season, all of which offer a refreshed look, with the opportunity for outfit building.

The first colour story is Fusion; the inclusion of fresh spring blues help to create classic head-to-toe looks, which are inspired by the iconic PING split ball colour combinations. A collection of classic blue shades, Danube and Infinity Blue, in addition to a vibrant Poppy, adds energy to this print story.

The second colour story see’s the return to greens; Evergreen. This sophisticated palette includes the new shades, Everglade and Aquarius, that work together, or as individual solid colours. This modern green colour story provides a strong on-course look with a technical edge.

The final colour story is Revival; with pastel colours remaining relevant for the spring season and feature at the core of this fresh palette. Trending shades, Cool Lilac and Violet, create a calming, neutral feel with polos and easy-to-wear shorts offering high summer options for warmer climates.

The choice and depth within the range is expansive, with the trouser offering in particular expanding to suit the needs and taste of every golfer. Three trouser styles now make up the collection, offering more silhouettes and fabrics. New for SS23 is the PING Tour Trouser; a tapered leg performance trouser that is cut to fit loosely around the hips and thighs and tapered to a slim fit from the knee down to the hem, to create a sophisticated and modern look. This new style utilises an innovative four-way stretch knitted fabric, offering golfers ultimate freedom of movement in an on-trend modern silhouette.

New accessories further compliment the range to help build colour coordinating outfits, thanks to a wider range of caps, a new PING Stamp Reversible Belt, which has a sleek gunmetal finish, and additional socks that are engineered from SensorCool® fabric technology and are ergonomically fit.

PING have announced the introduction of the ChipR, a fully-engineered short-game solution that combines elements of a putter and wedge to help golfer’s improve performance around the greens.

The PING ChipR is available for custom fitting and pre-sell beginning today at authorised PING golf shops around the world.

The investment-cast, 431 stainless steel club is inspired by the PING Chipo, introduced by PING Founder Karsten Solheim in the late 1970s for golfers who lacked confidence with a traditional wedge and frequently struggled around the green.

“Golfers who fear chunking or blading their chip shots are really going to benefit from the new PING ChipR,” said John K. Solheim, PING CEO & President. “We’ve learned a lot since my grandfather, Karsten Solheim, invented the Chipo, but his insights were spot on as always. Our research indicates 1/3 of golfers who tested the ChipR saw better results compared to a traditional wedge. We’ve engineered a lot of technology into the ChipR to help golfers avoid the poor chip shot and save strokes around the green. It represents another score-lowering option from our engineers for golfers in search of game improvement and more enjoyment on the golf course.”

With the length of a putter (35”) and a loft closer to a 9-iron (38.5°), the ChipR is designed to be used on shots of 40 yards or less around the green with a putting-like stroke, resulting in bump-and-run style shots that ensure the distance control and consistency that leads to shorter putts.

“Applying a putting-style stroke takes a lot of the margin for error out of chip shots and is more comfortable for a lot of golfers,” Solheim said. “Knowing that, we’re building the ChipR at our standard putter length and lie angle to make setting up to the ball easier while providing the right amount of loft to get the ball in the air and eventually rolling closer to the hole. We recommend applying the same amount of force for a putt of the same distance. A lot of golfers will be amazed at how easy it is to use and more importantly, the number of strokes they’ll be saving.”

The ChipR’s compact size and shallow face combine with the cambered sole to optimize performance and provide versatility from the rough and fringe. The precision milled MicroMax grooves deliver consistent and predictable trajectories for improved control.

“We designed the ChipR to fit seamlessly into a golfer’s set,” Solheim said. “Whether they replace an existing wedge or another club in their bag, it’s a tremendous option to save strokes around the green. Just like all our clubs, it’s forgiving and can be custom fit and custom built to match the needs of the player. We’re excited to get it into golfer’s hands so they can share their results with us and their playing partners can ask them how their short game got so good.”

PGA Tour star, Viktor Hovland, one of the game’s brightest young talents with six wins on global tours to his credit, has renewed his multi-year equipment contract with PING President John K. Solheim announced today.

“Viktor is a great fit for the PING brand. He’s an elite player and one of the most likeable and engaging personalities on tour. He’s fun to watch, and golf fans have really connected with him,” Solheim said. “When we signed him right out of college, we knew he was a special player. The connection to Norway and our relationship with Oklahoma State over the years made it a no-brainer for us to add him to the PING team. He’s quickly proven himself to be one of the best players in the world in less than three years as a professional. We’re very excited to extend our relationship with Viktor.”

Hovland, 24, has three PGA Tour titles (plus one unofficial win, the Hero World Challenge), and two victories on the DP World Tour. He won in back-to-back appearances last autumn, then won in Dubai in January to give him three victories in five starts. He’s currently 8th in the Official World Golf Ranking. He’s the first Norwegian to win on the PGA and DP World tours, the first to compete in the Ryder Cup, to win the U.S. Amateur, and to play at the Masters.

A native of Oslo, Hovland shares a special connection to PING Founder Karsten Solheim, who was born in Bergen, Norway. The country’s national flag has a place on Hovland’s PING Tour Staff bag

Talking about his new agreement, Hovland expressed his excitement and appreciation for his relationship with the family-owned company.

“Since turning professional and joining PING, I’ve felt very much a part of their golf family,” Hovland said. “The Norwegian connection is really cool and one of the many things that makes our relationship so special. Their team is out there every week on tour, working with me, fine-tuning my clubs but also just listening to me, watching me hit shots and helping determine what I need to elevate my game. I like that it’s a collaboration. We talk through everything, whether that’s at tour events or at the PING Proving Grounds. I’ve always learned a lot from our discussions, which makes me a smarter golfer. The equipment is fantastic and everyone who supports me is really experienced and passionate about what they do, so I look forward to continuing what has been a very rewarding arrangement for me personally and professionally.”

As part of the multi-year agreement, Hovland will play PING clubs, carry a PING staff bag and wear PING-branded headwear (front of hat).

PING has released details of its Spring/Summer 2022 men’s apparel range, which combines the latest premium fabrics with eye-catching and stylish designs, so that golfers can look and play their best. Due to continued demand, the collection is their largest to date and is inspired by PING’s rich heritage, with key styles paying tribute to PING’s pioneering engineering history.

Staying true to PING’s clean and timeless design ethos, the SS22 men’s collection features a key focus on ‘Elevated Geos’. The refined geometrics that feature throughout the range reinvigorate pattern and texture, which feature clean, angular, sharp and precise details. The new, innovative designs are complemented by the state-of-the-art Sensor fabric technology platform from PING, to ensure every item is specifically engineered to respond to the body’s requirements and demands whilst on the golf course. As a brand who strive for continuous improvement, PING have also introduced recycled content into a number of styles this season.

For SS22, PING have developed three brand-new energising colour palettes, with each of these boasting a technical edge that showcases PING’s forward-thinking design ethos. The ‘Daybreak’ colour story offers a refined pastel colour palette, while the ‘New Wave’ colour story embodies a more classic range, with Blue Surf and Firebrick red combining for strong looks with heritage appeal. The ‘Supercharged’ palette is a striking new colour story that sees Dragonfly green mix with softer tone, Blue Nile, whilst black and a punch of lime creates a crisp, technical edge.

One of the stand-out pieces in the collection is the 1A Putter polo, inspired by the original PING 1A putter. An innovative design that features the clean, angular shapes of the iconic putter design in a modern and timeless look.

Another signature piece in the SS22 range is the PING Geo polo, a garment that incorporates the ‘Elevated Geos’ theme through the use of a repeat hexagonal pattern and features the PING Eye Mark logo throughout, to offer an eye-catching look for all golfers.

The expanded SS22 collection also features a host of new designs, such as the Focus, Sinclair, Cubic Jacquard, Rae, Halcyon, Portman, Malvern and Alexander polo shirts, which are all engineered with SensorCool® technology to provide moisture-moving comfort in all conditions.

The 1A Putter polo is one of this season’s statement garments. Available in two colours, with a contrast tipped collar, the design takes inspiration from Karsten Solheim’s original idea for the now iconic 1A Putter and features a premium graphic print of this unique sketch. Produced from recycled polyester and constructed in SensorCool® performance fabric, with the added benefit of an antibacterial finish, this polo provides golfers with the perfect all-round garment for the golf course.

The PING Geo polo embodies the company’s brand heritage and logo and features a hexagon design throughout, which has become a recognisable shape that PING has utilised throughout its existence. The geometric repeat print creates a modern look and incorporates the Eye Mark logo within the design. The fabric utilises SensorCool® technology and is made from recycled polyester, to keep the wearer in their comfort zone for the duration of their round.

The brand-new Cubic Jacquard polo is a performance garment that features an eye-catching cubic jacquard fabric throughout and comes in three contrasting colourways: Navy Multi, Black Multi and Blue Surf Multi. Engineered from SensorCool® fabric, it provides comfort in play, with moisture-movement, quick-drying and stretch properties.

Created in a unique scattered camo pattern, the Rae polo provides an on-trend jacquard, executed in a subtle and refined manner. The PING Eye Mark logo on the shoulder contrasts to the camo design and outstanding technical performance comes from the SensorCool® fabric with moisture-movement, quick-drying and stretch properties and is also made from recycled polyester.

The Sensor Platform

The Sensor platform from PING is an innovative, technological system, designed to ensure that every garment worn is specifically engineered to respond to the body’s requirements and the demands of the game, whatever the conditions.

SensorCool® – Engineered to be worn next to the skin, SensorCool® technology, featuring moisture-moving properties, draws excess perspiration from the skin. This will keep the golfer dry for the duration of a round and beyond, guaranteeing exceptional comfort levels in all conditions. Each SensorCool® garment is crease resistant and formed from stretch fabrics that are designed to complement the athletic movements made during a golf swing.

SensorWarm® – SensorWarm® technology embodies a thermal layer, designed to trap warm air and maintain a preferable body temperature. This layer also works as a barrier to resist wind chill and the subsequent effect it can have on a swing. SensorWarm® garments are designed to minimise weight and distraction, through the use of breathable and stretch fabrics. Such qualities also enable the garments to work with the golfer’s body for optimum playability.

SensorDry® – This technology provides the ultimate, long-lasting waterproof and windproof protection against all the elements. The garments incorporating SensorDry® are air permeable and, therefore, truly breathable. The outerwear is specifically cut in lightweight and noiseless fabrics, to eradicate distractions often associated with weather protective garments, while the fabrics used hold stretch qualities intended to move with your body throughout the golf swing.

PING has unveiled details of its Spring/Summer 2022 collection. The new range creates an uplifting summer mood, using colour and performance fabrics in a mix of heritage-inspired patterns that have been modernised to soften and update traditional formal looks. The garments showcase a variety of elegant designs in what is their most diverse women’s offering to-date, highlighting PING’s dedication to the women’s game.

For SS22, PING have introduced recycled content into a number of styles and have broadened their women’s offering through three contemporary colour stories. ‘Digital Check’ is steeped in golf heritage and has been engineered with a distorted, optical twist and technical edge to give a sleek looking style for the season. It is a print collection that offers a certain familiarity that will appeal to both traditional and modern tastes.

The second colour story, ‘Distressed Houndstooth’, is a graphic overhaul of a traditional look. The houndstooth patterns have been reworked with exaggerated scales and distorted effects, whilst classic monochrome colours continue, providing a striking timeless look.

The third colour story, ‘Modern Deco’, is inspired by art deco design with patterns that incorporate clean lines, geometric shapes and decorative effects. Within the blue palette in the colour story, PING has created a clean geo print that takes influence from art deco principles to construct a brilliantly chic look.

The collection is highlighted by the Etta and Evie polos, which can be paired perfectly with the Saffi skort and matching Birdie visor for a contemporary head-to-toe look. All are available in any of the three colour stories and feature SensorCool® technology for moisture-moving comfort in all conditions, providing golfers unrivalled comfort and style.

As part of an expanded range, PING have also increased their trouser offering with the addition of the new Verity Printed Crop, Short and Skort to complement the Verity trouser range and offer greater outfit combinations.

The Etta polo has been crafted from SensorCool® stretch and moisture-moving fabric, to ensure comfort on and off the golf course. Available in three colourways, each one utilises the printed fabric in different executions to provide greater variety within the range. All colourways feature a contemporary stripe detail at the back of the garment and are crafted from recycled polyester.

Engineered for warmer weather, the Evie polo features cut-and-sew panels at the armhole. The neckline can be worn open to reveal the printed under placket, or closed over with the feature top button. Its light, minimalistic design, coupled with SensorCool® technology offers golfers a brilliant solution for a hot summer’s day and is produced from recycled polyester.

An all-new polo shirt that encompasses PING’s Distressed Houndstooth pattern in a subtle and refined jacquard fabric. The pattern is further highlighted by the high shine yarn used within the fabric, giving this style added feminine detailing. Available in three strong colour options, this design offers the wearer a modern update on a traditional pattern. Featuring SensorCool® fabric technology, the Faye polo is engineered for moisture-moving comfort in all conditions and is made from recycled polyester.

Available in all three colour stories, the new Saffi Skort provides a coordinated full outfit look when paired with the Etta or Evie Polo.

PING announces the introduction of the Glide 4.0 wedge series, its next generation of specialty wedges engineered to bring golfers lower-launching, higher-spinning performance into and around greens.

The tour-proven Glide 4.0 wedges are available for custom fitting and pre-sell beginning today at authorised PING golf shops around the world.

“The Glide 4.0 series is an exciting continuation of our specialty wedge family that brings golfers the short-game performance they need to lower their scores through several advancements in wedge technology,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “We packed a lot of performance into the series to ensure it appeals to golfers of all abilities. The wedges have a great look at address and are extremely versatile in all conditions, relying on precision-milled grooves and a new face blast to increase friction and deliver high spin and consistency. The feel is greatly improved as we’re using 8620 carbon steel together with our activated elastomer insert behind the face. Every detail in the Glide 4.0 is designed to save shots, including a longer grip for choking down when necessary to play touch shots around the green. We’ve seen tremendous tour adoption around the world with the new wedges and look forward to getting them in golfer’s hands as we begin another golf season.”

In developing the Glide 4.0 wedges, PING’s engineers focused on expanding the grind and loft options to make custom fitting easier and more precise.

“The four distinctly different sole grinds, including an Eye2 sand-wedge-inspired version in four lofts, ensure that trained PING club fitters can properly match a Glide 4.0 to a golfer’s angle of attack and playing conditions,” Solheim said. “Whether fitting our tour pros or players who just prefer the look, feel and all-around performance of a specialty wedge, we have a sole grind and loft combination to match every golfer.”

8620 Carbon Steel & Activated Elastomer

The multi-material construction combines 8620 carbon steel with a larger and softer activated elastomer insert to provide a soft, responsive feel. The additional volume of the insert allows for 36% more face contact, resulting in the softer feel golfers prefer in their wedges.

“This is the first time we’re using 8620 in the investment casting of a Glide series wedge,” said Solheim. “It makes a big difference. When we combine it with the activated elastomer, it delivers an amazing feel.”

Precisely Sized and Shaped

The Glide 4.0 features a slightly rounded, compact design that benefits from advancements to the lead edge and hosel transition to provide a captured look at address. In designing the series, the engineers made the head sizes of the “S” and “T” grind versions smaller than the “W” and “E” options.

“The first impression a golfer gets when they look at a wedge is vitally important,” said Solheim. “It must appeal to their eye and instill confidence that they can execute the shot they’re facing. When designing the series, we decided to vary the head size of the S and T grinds to give players choosing those options a smaller head for added confidence and versatility. Conversely, the W and E grinds are a little more forgiving, with slightly larger heads.”

Friction Face with Emery Blast

In combination with the precision-milled face and grooves, the new Emery face blast adds more texture to the hitting surface, creating higher friction and more interaction between the club and ball for more spin and lower launch. The 46º, 50º and 52º lofts feature wheel-cut grooves with a 20º sidewall to optimise performance on full shots. The 54º to 60º options are milled with a 28º sidewall and tighter radius for more spin and precision on finesse shots around the green and from the sand. The hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish adds to the higher spin and lower launch, especially from wet and rough conditions.

“The new Emery blast makes a huge difference in performance and is the result of our on-going research into the role friction plays in adding spin during ball interaction,” said Solheim. “We’re able to provide added spin with a lower launch that gives golfers the consistency they need to play at the pin on full shots or take on the tough shots around the green.”

Four Grinds, More Loft Options

Four differentiated sole grinds (S, W, T, E) are designed to match a golfer’s angle of attack and typical turf conditions for improving performance and versatility on full and partial shots. In all, there are 17 grind/loft combinations.

S Grind (46º/12º, 50º/12º, 52º/12º, 54º/12º, 56º/12º, 58º/10º, 60º/10º)

-Trail edge/heel relief
-Ample bounce
-Rounded lead edge
-Fits most golfers

W Grind (54º/14º, 56º/14º, 58º/14º, 60º/14º)

-Traditional full-sole design
-Most forgiving through the turf
-Rounded lead edge
-Optimised for square-face and bunker shots

T GRIND (58º/6º, 60º/6º)

-High lead-edge bounce
-Half-moon sole shaping
-Increased center bounce width

E GRIND (54º/10º, 56º/10º, 58º/8º, 60º/8º)

-High toe
-Improved lead-edge shaping
-Dished sole and tapered hosel for bunker performance

Eye2-inspired E-Grind

The PING Eye2 wedge face profile inspired the “E” grind, which is distinguished by the high-toe design made popular by Karsten Solheim’s iconic sand wedge developed in the early 1980s. It features a blended hosel and dished sole design similar to the original Eye2.

Significant distance gains combined with improved feel and sound in a players-distance model distinguish the new i525™ irons, according to PING President John K. Solheim, who today officially introduced the newest entry into PING’s extensive iron lineup. The custom-built i525 irons are now available for custom fittings at authorised PING retailers around the world.

“What’s most satisfying in the i525 iron from an engineering standpoint is how our team has been able to maximise the flexing of the metal-wood-style face structure while creating a pleasing sound and feel,” said Solheim. “As golfers know who’ve played this type of iron design, they often sacrificed some of the feel for more distance. That’s not the case in the i525 as we’re able to provide golfers a solid-feeling iron with the increased ball speed they need to hit longer, higher shots that hit and hold the green. We’re seeing some incredible results as a lot of golfers are a club stronger or more, including Tour pros who are attracted to the compact look and increased ball speed of the longer irons.”

Forged, Maraging-Steel Face

The strength of the variable-thickness, maraging steel allows for a thinner, more dynamic face structure with an internal sole undercut in the 17-4 stainless steel body to increase flexing for more ball speed and shots that launch faster and higher with distance control.

“As we advance all of our iron technologies through our continuous research and knowledge development, it’s important for golfers to understand the different attributes engineered into each model,” said Solheim. “The i525 is clearly for the golfer in search of more distance. But it offers so much more performance, including exceptional forgiveness concealed in a players- style head. Its size and shape are beautifully crafted, and it’s packed with tremendous technology on the inside, which makes it very appealing to a wide range of golfers.”

Sound Engineering

A polymer is precisely injected onto the inside of the face to improve feel and sound without interfering with face deflection, the source of its increased ball speed.

“One of the biggest challenges we face in designing all clubs is tuning the feel and sound,” said Solheim. “Because of the i525’s metal-wood-style face design, we knew sound would require additional attention to ensure the gains in distance didn’t come at the expense of the feel. We couldn’t sacrifice one attribute just to improve another. The solution was to inject the polymer in precise amounts to the same area behind the face. The result is a significant improvement in distance, sound and feel.”

Extreme Weighting

Tungsten toe and shaft tip weights combine with a tiered, dynamic face structure and cavity to expand the perimeter weighting while preserving ball speed through greater face deflection for added distance and improved accuracy. The moment of inertia has increased in the vertical and horizontal axes to provide tighter dispersion and increased forgiveness.

“The structure of the face and cavity is a significant mechanical-engineering accomplishment,” Solheim said. “They function as one to ensure golfers benefit from the forgiveness PING irons are famous for while maintaining consistent bending across the face to deliver the added ball speed and higher launch that golfers expect in a distance-focused iron.”

Friction Face with MicroMax™ Milled Grooves

Introduced last year in the i59 iron, the i525’s precision-machined face has MicroMax grooves for tighter spacing and a geometry that results in an average of four extra grooves on each club to reduce fliers in the short irons and preserve spin in the long irons for greater control and consistency.

The multi-material drivers are available for pre-order today, and custom fitting at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning in mid-February.

“We’ve continued to increase forgiveness and optimise ball flight in the G410 Plus driver while adding more dimensions to driver custom fitting,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “Our new, movable-weight technology provides the benefits of custom CG locations, including directional control, without sacrificing MOI or ball speeds which is what we’ve always seen with other non-fixed weight drivers. The G410 Plus offers golfers a simple, logical way to customise their driver and allows them to swing away on the tee box without fear of missing the fairway. It puts tour-level fitting into the golfer’s hands. We’ve also expanded the loft and lie options with a new eight-setting, lightweight hosel that further fine-tunes ball flight.”

Custom CG locations

In the G410 Plus model, three positions (Draw, Neutral, Fade) for the ultra-high-density tungsten back weight shift the centre of gravity (CG) location by 1/10″ in each direction from neutral to influence left or right shot direction approximately 10 yards (20 yards of correction between Draw and Fade settings). By positioning the weight on the extreme boundary of the clubhead, the moment of inertia increases compared to the original G400 driver – ensuring golfers enjoy the added distance and forgiveness required to hit their tee shots longer and straighter.

“Our engineering team took on the challenge of advancing driver fitting through custom CG locations without compromising the key attributes that ensure performance,” said Solheim. “It’s amazing how they’ve been able to deliver this new fitting element while also improving distance and MOI. The movable-weight technology clearly demonstrates the effects on shot shape and the ability to dial in your desired ball flight. This additional fitting element optimises a golfer’s trajectory – meaning they’ll consistently be further and straighter down the fairway than ever before.”

The G410 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) model is engineered with a fixed ultra-high-density tungsten weight positioned on the clubhead’s extreme perimeter and 50% more heel-side CG than its predecessor to ensure straighter ball flights. A lighter swingweight (D1) further influences direction by helping square the face at impact.

“There is still a large segment of golfers who will play better with a driver completely optimized for performance with the benefit of maximum fade correction,” Solheim added. “When we pioneered Straight Flight Technology several years ago, we wanted to provide a ‘slice-fixing’ driver without adding huge offset or just closing the face. The G410 SFT sits visually square at address and delivers all the performance benefits of the G410 Plus while ensuring a consistently straight ball flight.”

Dragonfly Technology Inside

A new “creased crown” design provides stiffening properties and combines with patented Dragonfly Technology to create an ultra-thin crown structure, which saves weight for optimising the CG location and increasing forgiveness. Together with more aggressive and efficient Turbulator Technology, the 455cc head’s crown design provides a clean, powerful and faster look at address while making alignment nearly effortless.

Forged, T9S+ Face

The unique forging and patented heat-treatment process of the T9S+ face powers a thinner, hotter impact area that is precision machined to elevate ball speed across the entire face for more flexing and faster ball speeds. The forged face and the internal geometry of the head are instrumental in producing the powerful feel and sound of the driver.

Trajectory Tuning 2.0

The new, patented lightweight and aerodynamic adjustable hosel expands from five to eight settings, offering loft (0, +1⁰, +1.5⁰, -1⁰, -1.5⁰) and lie adjustments (including up to 3⁰ flatter than standard) to optimise ball flight.

“The expansion of the loft options is a tremendous benefit for all golfers who can now further optimise their launch conditions, including increasing ball speed, with the guidance of a club fitter or through their own experimentation,” said Solheim. “The lie angle fitting option adds another layer of opportunity for expert club fitters to really fine-tune a golfer’s driver performance based on a more detailed analysis of their ball flight and launch conditions.”

New Counter-Balanced Shaft Technology

Continuing PING’s commitment to optimising the entire club system, the engineering team developed the next generation of the Alta CB (counter balanced) shaft as the proprietary option in the G410 driver. The higher-launching, lightweight Alta CB Red 55 is engineered with an eight-gram counterweight in the grip end of the shaft, shifting the CG higher and allowing for more head weight to increase energy transfer and momentum – resulting in more ball speed and greater forgiveness. The high-performance PING Tour 65 & 75 (lower launch, low spin, stable feel), Project X EvenFlow Black 75 (low launch, low spin) and Mitsubishi Tensei™ CK Orange 60 (mid-launch angle, low spin) are available at no upcharge and ensure a shaft-fitting option to match the launch conditions of all golfers.

“With the added distance golfers are enjoying in their drivers and irons due to all the advancements in technology, ensuring a set make-up that delivers the proper gapping is more important than ever,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “Our G410 fairways woods, hybrids and crossovers offer golfers multiple options to transition from their mid-and long-irons into clubs that are easier to hit and provide tremendous distance while maintaining the necessary gapping benefits. They each provide varying performance features and launch characteristics. We’ve got everything from a low-spin 3-wood option, a 2 crossover all the way to a 6 hybrid. We encourage all golfers to undergo a thorough gapping analysis with an authorised PING fitting specialist to determine their ideal set make up.”

Maraging-Steel Face Technology

To maximise distance in the G410 fairway woods, hybrids and crossovers, PING has employed C300 maraging steel as the face material. One of the strongest alloys in the world, maraging steel is commonly used in the aerospace industry, where strength and flexibility are necessities. It’s those properties that also make it an ideal face material to deliver more flexing for faster ball speeds that launch shots further and higher.

“With maraging steel, we have a material that allows us to go extremely thin with the face to give us the faster ball-speed gains we’re seeking for more distance and higher launch. The results have been amazing as we’re seeing face flexing equal to the thickness of the face,” said Solheim.

A Focus on Forgiveness

In the G410 fairway woods, a low-back CG and high-density tungsten weight positioned at the extreme boundary of the head provides greater stability and forgiveness. A larger profile and high-density tungsten back weight in the G410 hybrid drive the MOI higher to ensure golfers the forgiveness they require while launching the ball higher. The G410 crossover, which has been streamlined to provide more iron-like performance, relies on a 30-gram dual-density tungsten toe weight to maximise forgiveness.
“Providing the most forgiving clubs in the industry remains a top priority for us,” Solheim said. “The use of multi-material construction and high-tech manufacturing processes allow us to consistently increase the MOI and design clubs that fit the needs of all golfers. Whether they prefer the performance of a fairway wood, the reliability of a hybrid or the versatility of a crossover, golfers can always count on a certain level of forgiveness from our clubs.”

PING’s First Adjustable Hybrid Hosel

The addition of a patented, eight-setting adjustable hosel to the hybrid greatly expands the fitting options to ensure proper gapping for golfers who rely on hybrids as mid- and long-iron replacements. The lightweight and aerodynamic adjustable hosel, which is also in the G410 fairway woods, offers loft (0, +1⁰, +1.5⁰, -1⁰, -1.5⁰) and lie adjustments (including up to 3⁰ flatter than standard) to optimise ball flight.
“Loft and lie adjustability in the hybrids will greatly benefit golfers,” said Solheim. “It’s a technology our fitters have been asking for and we’re excited to bring it to them to help golfers fine-tune their ball flight and dial in their gaps. We’ve also expanded the colour code options in the crossover to further customise them for lie angle to better transition into an iron set.”

G410 Fairway Woods Overview

Powered by a forged, maraging-steel face, the G410 fairway woods are engineered to launch the ball easily and deliver faster ball speeds on a penetrating trajectory that maximises distance. PING engineers positioned the low-back CG slightly forward of the G400 model to deliver more energy from the shallower face while providing greater stability. Eight fitting positions in the new lightweight, aerodynamic hosel sleeve enable golfers to tune their trajectories through loft and lie adjustments. Three models (Std., SFT and LST) ensure an option to fit every golfer.

G410 SFT (Straight Flight) Fairway Woods

More heel-side weighting and a lighter swing weight help square the face to create right-to-left shot bend (RH golfers). The heads are slightly larger to drive the MOI higher, and lofts are 1.5˚ higher to produce easier launch.

G410 LST (Low Spin) 3-Wood

The all-new, slightly smaller head has a CG slightly lower and more forward than the standard head to launch shots higher with less spin, resulting in longer shots that get airborne easily for many higher swing speed and high spin golfers.

Ensuring the distance demands of today’s golfer while advancing PING’s reputation for making the most-forgiving irons available, PING introduced the G410 iron today, a high-performance game-improvement model in a compact design.

The multi-material iron is available for pre-order and custom fitting at authorised PING golf shops around the world beginning today.

“In the G410 iron, our engineers challenged the idea that you can’t make an iron smaller and increase the forgiveness at the same time,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “They’ve developed a clean, highly appealing design with less offset and a significantly higher MOI when compared to the G400 iron. It’s the most forgiving iron of its size. It will appeal to a very wide range of golfers as it produces faster ball speeds, maximum forgiveness and amazing feel with a pleasing appearance – all the attributes they need to hit their iron shots higher, further and straighter.”

Re-shaping Distance and Forgiveness

PING’s engineering team created a face and cavity structure in the G410 iron that delivers faster ball speeds and saves weight to expand the perimeter weighting. The additional weight savings are concentrated in the toe and hosel to achieve an 8% increase in the moment of inertia (MOI) for more forgiveness and consistency.

The more flexible, free-moving face amplifies ball speeds for greater distance and higher max height, allowing golfers to hit less club into the green with the control and precision to hold the putting surface. This is achieved by de-coupling the weighting structure from the face to create a larger flexing zone, which performs like a hinge to launch the ball faster and higher with consistency and predictability. The next generation of COR-Eye technology powers the performance in conjunction with the cascading sole design and deep top-rail undercut.

“The G410 iron represents several exciting iron design advancements for us,” said Solheim. “Our innovations like COR-Eye technology have allowed us to re-imagine the way we engineer an iron. By increasing ball speed as much as we have in recent models, our irons launch much easier and higher than ever. As a result, we can experiment with the size and shape of the head while improving the MOI properties so critical to consistent performance.”

High Marks for Look, Feel and Sound

The clean, refined shape of the G410 iron results from a slightly shorter blade length and 10% less offset compared to the G400 iron, creating an inspiring blade-iron-style look with broad appeal. Its resilient hydropearl 2.0 finish provides an attractive appearance and contributes to smooth turf interaction. The full-cavity, co-molded aluminum and elastomer badge delivers a powerful, reassuring feel and sound.
“We all know the first impression of any club design is vitally important. It starts with the appearance at address and continues when the golfer solidly strikes that first shot,” said Solheim. “We’re seeing very positive results from our own data and hearing outstanding feedback from others about every aspect of the design and performance of the G410 iron.”

High-spin wedges

Using the same geometry as the Glide 2.0 wedge series, the grooves on the G410 PW, UW, SW and LW are precision machined with a sharper edge radius, increasing interaction with the cover of the ball at impact and creating more friction for improved spin and trajectory control.

“The fully machined grooves on all four wedges are an example of the added detail we’ve engineered into the G410 irons,” said Solheim. “For players who want a consistent look and feel throughout their set, they can now enjoy much higher spin and control in their scoring clubs along with all the other performance benefits of the iron’s technology.

Continuing an affiliation that goes back to his teen years with PING, Lee Westwood has signed another multi-year agreement to play PING equipment, PING Chairman & CEO John A. Solheim announced today.

The 44-year-old Englishman has 23 European Tour titles and 42 total career wins across five continents, the first coming in 1996. He reached world #1 in 2010, and is second on the list of England’s most prolific champions. He has 18 top 10s in majors (three runners-up), and has played on 10 consecutive Ryder Cup teams for Europe, earning 23 points, among the most on either side.

“Lee has been one of the steadiest, most recognisable players in the game for many years, certainly in Europe but also in the United States,” Solheim said. “His game has been so impressive and to have won 42 times is remarkable. On a personal level, the PING family has been close to Lee for decades, going all the way back to his earliest days playing golf as a boy in England. We look forward to watching him continue his prestigious career.”

Black-and-white photographs show Westwood as a teenager posing with an early set of PING clubs and a PING bag outside his boyhood home. “I can’t imagine a better working relationship than I’ve had with PING, to be honest,” Westwood said. “PING have always made a connection with me and I feel that their equipment is superior, from the drivers down to the wedges and putters. Also, the people are first-class, including the way they treat us out on tour. I’m ecstatic to continue working with a company that has played such a key role in my career success.”

As part of the multi-year agreement, Westwood will wear a PING hat, carry a PING staff bag and play a minimum of 11 PING clubs, including a PING driver and PING putter. Currently in his bag are a G400 LST driver, G400 fairway wood, G hybrid, i200 irons, Glide 2.0 wedges, and a PING Vault Bergen putter.

PING’s longstanding reputation as the custom fitting leader has been earned through decades of research and field experience, utilising a methodology that has been adopted by thousands of PGA Professionals around the world.

You may ask ‘Why should I fit?’ but the better question is ‘Why shouldn’t I fit?’

While some may think that fitting is the latest marketing hype, in reality it’s not a fad and has stood the test of time. It’s based on upon simple fundamentals that the consumer understands make a difference, and with golf being a game of little things, fitting addresses those little things.

With consumer knowledge on the benefits of being fitted constantly improving, more and more are planning to be fitted for their next purchase. Offering a fitting service is becoming an essential part of maximising club sales, with the vast majority of golfers now wanting their clubs to be custom fit for them.

The benefits of being fitted have become increasingly more apparent in recent years with consumers benefitting from increased confidence, which in turn enables them to “Play Their Best”.

It has become commonplace for lessons to lead to fittings as consumers discover they are using equipment that is detrimental to their playing ability, while fittings also lead to lessons as consumers refine their technique in adjusting to properly fitted clubs.

Being fitted correctly can result in improvements in consistency, distance, accuracy, ball flight, distance control and overall confidence, as properly fitted clubs promote a more efficient swing. Achieving the above leads to a more enjoyable experience on the golf course and enhances a consumer’s love for the game.

Custom fitting has also become a proven way of establishing one-on-one personal relationships with consumers, leading to a development of trust and loyalty, which results in repeat purchases.

Providing a high level of custom fitting enables consumer expectations to be exceeded and also allows the right level of inventory to be held and stock turned appropriately. There are many fitting myths that exist and present barriers to those thinking about offering it as a service to their consumers. In reality however, fitting doesn’t take long and it isn’t expensive.

While custom fitting is obviously valuable for the consumer, the benefits of offering custom fitting as a service are often overlooked. Gaining an advantage over the competition that doesn’t offer it as a service helps to build consumer relationships, respect, trust and loyalty.

Investing in the ability to provide a high level of fitting is an effective and profitable business venture, providing the ability to tap into a niche market as custom fitting can only be conducted by a trained fitter with the correct tools.

Custom fitting is proven to work effectively with every level of golfer, ranging from touring professionals to complete beginners. It also provides the opportunity to provide a personable service, ideal for strengthening relationships with customers and increasing the chances of repeat business from not only the customer, but the customer’s friends through word of mouth.

PING is renowned for providing the most comprehensive fitting strategy in the industry, as well as the fastest delivery service, which results in a quick turnaround to ensure customer satisfaction, meet demand and optimise cash flow.

By not offering custom fitting as a service, a major element of competitive advantage is lost, resulting in a potential loss of business due to customer requirements not being fulfilled.

Market trends indicate that more and more consumers are planning to be custom fitted for their next club purchase as the large majority of consumers want to be fitted due to the potential performance benefits to be gained.

Statistics have shown that fitting is not a flash in the pan fad and that it’s a concept that’s here to stay. With peers regarded as the primary influencer on buyer behaviour, offering a good fitting service will cause word to spread and maximise business.

Achieving significant performance gains by engineering without sacrificing other key design attributes, PING announced two new innovative iron models today while expanding its popular Glide wedge and Cadence TR putter families.

The new GMax iron introduces COR-Eye Technology, a revolutionary design that increases flexing across the entire face for faster ball speeds that produce unprecedented distance and forgiveness. The new i iron, PING’s first model to utilise 431 stainless steel, is a softer players-style head that offers workability and ball-flight control with the forgiveness to ensure accuracy and consistency. Both new models are available with the PING CFS Distance shaft. Golfers can also choose one of four popular after-market shafts with no upcharge.

PING’s new Glide ES (Eye Sole) wedge combines the technology of the original Eye2 sand wedge, including the tapered hosel and scooped sole, with the high-performance features of the Glide design to add another versatile choice for improved play from bunkers and around the green. It joins the Glide standard sole (SS), thin sole (TS), and wide sole (WS), creating 16 loft and sole combinations to suit a player’s swing and most common turf conditions.

The Cadence TR putter series grows stronger with the addition of the Craz-e-r and Ketsch Mid. The Craz-e-r, an evolution of the highly successful Craz-E design, is a high-MOI model featuring a floating sightline that extends from the top to the back of the putter for improved alignment. The Ketsch Mid, a smaller version of the award-winning Ketsch, provides golfers a fully machined, high-MOI mallet-style head with advanced alignment features. Both models are engineered with True Roll Technology grooves and are available in two weight options.

All of the new product can be pre-ordered beginning today at PING-authorised retailers.

“Our commitment to engineering without sacrifice continues to produce measurable performance benefits across our entire product line,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “For example, COR-Eye Technology in the GMax iron provides the rare combination of distance with control, giving you significantly more ball speed for shots that fly further and land softer. The i iron is a players-style design that appeals to golfers of all skill levels because of its all-around performance. It has a great look and provides workability, trajectory control and just the right amount of forgiveness. It’s already in the bags of several of our tour professionals.”

Solheim added, “The two new Cadence TR models bring golfers proven designs with some exciting advancements. When we introduced the Craz-E in 2003, it quickly became a top-selling alignment-style model due to its shape and optics. In the Craz-e-r, we’ve added a new sightline that makes alignment even easier. The Ketsch Mid provides the benefits of the original Ketsch in a smaller head size.”

PING addressed short-game improvement with the new Glide ES wedge, inspired by the legendary Eye2 sand wedge. “Glide wedges had immediate tour validation with a win by Bubba Watson early in the season,” Solheim said. “Since then, they’ve been used to win several times.

The ES sole adds even more versatility to the Glide wedge line by incorporating the proven technology of the original Eye2 sand wedge, which is still in use today and known for being one of the highest-performing sand wedges ever designed.”

GMax Irons

PING engineered its longest, straightest iron ever by utilising COR-Eye™ Technology, which simultaneously activates the sole, face, and top rail to increase ball speed up to 3 mph over previous PING models, providing greater distance with control. COR-Eye creates a faster ball speed that is constant across the entire face, so even off-centre strikes deliver longer, straighter results. A new cavity structure houses a concealed Custom Tuning Port that connects to the sole. With this deeper position and wider sole, each iron’s centre of gravity is moved lower and further back to increase the MOI for more forgiveness, accuracy and consistency. Distance-generating lengths and lofts are optimised for efficient gapping with the distance control and high trajectory needed to hit and hold more greens. An enhanced leading edge, more trailing edge relief and refined bounce help optimise turf interaction. The 4- thru 8-iron faces are heat treated using a specialised process that strengthens the material by approximately 40%, creating a Hyper-17-4 alloy and allowing the face to be thinner for greater flexing and faster ball speeds. Longer blade lengths and increased offset maximise forgiveness and ensure a higher max shot height. The set has a unique swingweight progression where the 4, 5 and 6 irons have lighter swingweights to help square the face at impact, creating faster ball speeds for longer, straighter shots.

i Irons

PING engineers used 431 stainless steel for its high strength-to-weight ratio and softer feel to deliver workability and trajectory control with forgiveness. Larger head sizes and low/back CG positions in the long irons offer forgiveness and distance where golfers need it most. The smaller short irons and wedges provide precision and control.

Workability comes from a head and hosel geometry that ensures trajectory control for precise shot-making. Weight savings from the 431 SS and the deeper Custom Tuning Port position allow for expanded perimeter weighting. A tungsten toe weight in the 3 thru 7 irons increases forgiveness. An elastomer CTP weight tucks into the tuning port, which is lower on the face to align with the impact area for a more solid sound and feel.

The sole glides through the turf with ease, ensuring the solid contact required to play with control and consistency. An optimised, versatile bounce profile delivers exceptional performance in all conditions. The thin top rail and minimal offset create a confidence-inspiring look at address. Lengths and lofts are optimised to increase distance with proper gapping. With two PING shaft choices and four popular after-market stock options, golfers can match a shaft to their ball flight and feel preferences.

Glide ES Wedge (Eye Sole)

The Glide ES features a scooped sole that offers versatility on full and partial shots from all conditions, especially bunkers. Its hosel transition and sole design were inspired by the original PING Eye2 sand wedge. The tapered hosel is smaller leading into the face to decrease the cross section for less drag through the sand. A 24º sidewall and tighter radius in the grooves optimise spin on chips and pitches.

The chrome-plated 431 stainless steel head repels moisture to create more friction for improved spin and consistency in wet conditions and lies in the rough. Glide wedges are engineered from the hands down to provide short-game performance and trajectory control on shots of every length. The proprietary Dyla-wedge grip is ¾ of an inch longer to encourage gripping down to control ball flight. The CFS Wedge shaft is optimised in weight, flex and balance to provide a stable feel and lower ball flights.

Available in 56º, 58º, 60º

Dyla-wedge grip: ¾-inch longer, grip-down markings at 1 3/8″ intervals, softer tapering profile

Stock shafts: CFS Wedge (stiff flex, 118g); TFC 419i (Soft R, R, S)

Cadence TR Ketsch Mid

The Ketsch Mid has a smaller, more compact head than the original Ketsch mallet currently in play on many pro tours. It offers a 100% milled, aerospace-grade aluminium body to ensure precision, and also features True-Roll Technology grooves. TR grooves vary in width and depth from the centre of the face, producing consistent ball speeds across the face for unmatched distance control, resulting in more holed putts and fewer three-putts. Contrasting white sightlines on the black anodised head simplify alignment. The centre line extends to the back of the putter for added confidence. Golfers can choose a traditional-weight model with a stainless steel sole plate or a heavy-weight model with a tungsten nickel sole plate to match their stroke tempo and improve their consistency. The traditional-weight head will typically fit golfers with faster tempos and can help with lag putting. The heavy version adds mass to match slower-tempo strokes, and can lead to better results on shorter putts. The putter can be fit to accommodate straight, slight arc, or strong arc stroke types.

Traditional, 350g; Heavy, 375g

Straight, Slight Arc and Strong Arc stroke types

Adjustable +/- 2º from std. lie angle

Cadence TR Craz-e-r

PING introduces a variation on the Craz-e, one of the most successful and enduring models in its history. A continuous, floating white sightline extends from the top of the black PVD head to the back for easy alignment and more confidence. The high-MOI Craz-e-r is offered in a traditional-weight (blue) precision-milled aluminium insert, or a heavy (black) stainless steel insert. The traditional-weight head will typically fit golfers with faster tempos and can help with

lag putting. The heavy version adds mass to match slower-tempo strokes, and can lead to better results on shorter putts. The putter can be fit to accommodate straight, slight arc, or strong arc stroke types.

PING has announced it will sell 5,000 limited-edition all-pink PING G30® drivers, inspired by the one used by two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, and donate $60 to the Bubba Watson Foundation for every pink driver sold.

“Bubba has a huge heart and continues to use his success on the golf course to help people in need, especially children,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “As we’ve seen on the golf course with his shot-making skills, he’s a creative thinker and his decision to distinguish himself by using a pink driver and shaft helped make this program possible. We’re blessed with the opportunity to partner with Bubba and are very grateful to golfers who choose to support this program for the benefit of the Bubba Watson Foundation.”

Widely recognised as the longest driver in golf, Watson has used a pink PING driver since 2012, the year he won his first Masters. Following that victory, PING introduced a similar program with its pink G20 driver. Those funds were donated to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and used to help build the recently opened Bubba Watson-PING Golf Motion Analysis Lab — the first and only dedicated pediatric Motion Analysis Laboratory (MAL) in the state of Arizona. The MAL uses advanced assessment tools to evaluate and treat children and adolescents who have movement disorders or walking difficulties caused by conditions like Cerebral Palsy.

“I’ve been playing PING clubs since I was eight years old,” Watson said. “Besides making great equipment that helps me have success on the golf course, PING and the Solheim family are incredibly generous in giving back to the game through ideas like the limited-edition pink G30 driver program. I’m excited golfers have the opportunity to participate in this great cause knowing they are also contributing to help improve the lives of the less fortunate.”

The limited-edition G30 drivers will have a bright pink shaft and clubhead featuring the same technology, including turbulators on the crown, that has earned the G30 high marks for its performance from golfers of all abilities. The pink G30 drivers are offered in 9º and 10.5º lofts (adjustable +- 1º) for right-handed players; 10.5º (adjustable +- 1º) for left-handed players. It is available in R and S flexes. All come with a matching pink-accented head cover.

With an emphasis on significantly increasing ball velocity and accuracy through a combination of advanced aerodynamics, plus new face designs and materials, PING today introduced the G30 series – the company’s latest innovations that provide golfers measurable distance gains without sacrificing key performance attributes such as control and forgiveness.

The G30 series includes two driver options — standard and SF Tec (Straight Flight Technology) — along with fairway woods, hybrids and irons. The product line can be pre-ordered beginning today at PING-authorised golf shops around the world.

“With the G30 series, our engineers once again accomplished something that is unique to PING products — they elevated performance significantly in key areas without sacrificing other important attributes,” said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. “Across the product line, we’ve proved you can hit the ball higher and farther while increasing forgiveness and control. We’ve also continued our focus on advancing custom fitting in the driver and fairway woods by offering five loft positions. All of this promotes the consistent, reliable results that will help golfers of any skill level shoot lower scores and enjoy the game more.”

The most visible innovation on the G30 driver is the patented turbulators engineered onto the crown. Inspired by the aeronautics and sporting industries that put a premium on speed, Turbulator Technology reduces aerodynamic drag by significantly delaying airflow separation, maintaining attached airflow around the clubhead as it approaches impact, leading to more speed.

“The turbulators are really exciting,” said Solheim. “Wind-tunnel testing verified with clarity the role they play in reducing drag on the driver head, but its real benefit was confirmed through our player testing. When Bubba Watson first tested the turbulators, he picked up two miles per hour in clubhead speed and four miles per hour in ball speed, which meant 10 more yards for him. We can’t promise that for everyone, but with the turbulators’ powerful, inspiring look we’re confident all golfers will be longer off the tee, thanks to Turbulator Technology.”

The entire G30 series benefits from new face technologies and materials, including the introduction of T9S titanium in the drivers, which results in thinner faces and weight savings that help position the CG low and back. The fairway woods utilise a high-strength Carpenter 475 steel in the face, and the hybrids are heat treated with an H900 process. Both result in hotter, more forgiving faces. The G30 iron face is thinner for higher ball speeds while being stabilised by a new custom tuning port design for predictable distance control.

The G30 SF Tec driver option is engineered for players whose shots typically end up right of the intended target. In player testing, the G30 SF Tec driver, which features weight closer to the heel and lighter swingweights, improved shot bend by 12 yards when compared to the G30 standard driver.

PING has also increased the range of adjustability to five loft positions in the driver and fairway woods while maintaining the same mass and outer diameter as the company’s fixed hosels, providing the benefits of adjustability with no sacrifice in performance. The lightweight hosel allows golfers to increase or decrease loft 6/10 of a degree or 1 full degree to optimise launch conditions.

———————–
